grungy-gonads 54
It cracks me up when you get 'told' one of those 'questions', and try unsuccessfully to respond by saying it isn't true. As if you are not there and they are just not processing.

snowbender 3
Why do pretty much all the news programs on tv need some corny/strange English title? Check them out!

pie-eater 207
The "working man" "uniforms" that officials put on in times like this. You know the ones. Usually a lovely (but workmanlike) shade of pale blue, or green, or grey. Always really clean and nicely ironed as well. I wonder if their Mums do that.
Mick Rich 78
Yeah, that's funny!

ELMO 0
Funny how they stick them on in times of emergency. Go down the local Work Man or whatever they are called for a choice of nice workman-like colors.

pie-eater 207
Losing weight? See some good things do come of these uber-crisis(s). If there's none of them available though, I recommend pies.
JellyBelly 1
Tell you what cracks me up. Those travel-style programmes on NHK where they have a roaming camera going round and talking to locals and people walking about. The Japanese commentary is like that - a childish commentary. But the guys and gals speaking are obviously answering questions that the dude there asked them. Comes across as a bit creepy if you ask me.
igloo 3
I agree just watched that now. Cambridge today. Stalker camera!
bobby12 0
I love that show! I think it is called MACHI NO ARUKI or something. You get a good feel for the atmosphere of the town.
grungy-gonads 54
The basic idea is good but the way they do it is a bit creepy I agree.
JellyBelly 1
I agree it is quite interesting just a bit strange the way they execute the idea.
charlotte 0
I was watching that last night The student at Cambridge smoking the pipe was really funny. Quite like it myself that.
bobby12 0
yes they find some real characters on that show. i often wonder how much time they spend preparing and finding people to invite them into their homes. it looks sponteneous but sometimes i wonder if it isnt all pre-arranged. once they did a behind the scenes show, and they got the guys in who do the camerawork and showed off how they do it. the voiceover is really OTT, but it wouldnt be japanese tv without something OTT in it. grungy-gonads 54
There is absolutely no way that lot is sponteneous.

BillTheBinMan 0
On TV when the lady presenters all line up with their hands in that 'in front' position, exactly in the right place. Oh yes and the waving with both hands at the end of the program. On the less serious ones anyway. Japan doesn't seem to get the meaning of cheesy/naff somehow. Either that or it just doesn't mind being naff.
tokabochi 9
Oh I like that. They look ever so proper.
