Good morning from Hakuba.

A snowy morning and trees on the mountains are looking nice and white, though there's a misty cloudy feel going on.

40cm is being reported by Goryu on the upper areas (via official Hakuba Valley sources) and that is more than other areas are reporting. Happo are reporting up to 30cm on their upper areas with Cortina going with 10-15cm. So it looks like the ski areas to the south got more overnight. Sounds like it might be worth investigating!

Some light snow forecast for today and the next heavier snowfall likely tomorrow night. We might get lucky and get some clear skies tomorrow morning before that snow.

TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATION SO FAR (UPPER AREAS)

Hakuba 47430cm
Hakuba Cortina544cm
Hakuba Goryu548cm
Hakuba Happo-one507cm
Tsugaike Kogen557cm

I mentioned some adjustments happening at Happo-one in the report yesterday. This morning there's news from Tsugaike Kogen. They are also going to be resting a few lifts and facilities from tomorrow (including Burger King!), though hopefully it won't affect the amount of terrain that is open.

If you are here in Hakuba, please keep an eye on official ski areas information for specific details.

The 'total snowfall accumulation' data shown in the table on this page (above) is the total amount of snowfall that the ski areas have themselves reported from the upper areas of their resort since the beginning of the season. We manually check and update this official data just before we publish each Hakuba Now report. Any odd-looking numbers are due to the source data. We have no control over the data. Just to be extra clear, unlike our own ‘observed snowfall’ data from base that we show at the top of each report, the data in the table is not an independent observation by SnowJapan.
