Good morning from Hakuba.

It is a beautiful morning, as you can see below.

Blue skies, sunshine with just a bit of thin cloud. It is probably not going to last though with clouding over an precipitation due later this afternoon. Starting as rain, turning into snow (hopefully) tonight. Looks like the skies will be clearing up again for tomorrow.

Ski resort operation news for this morning:

The Line C quad at Hakuba 47 is back open from this morning, which is good to hear.

Hakuba Happo-one has added the Kokusai Number 1 pair for the weekend.

The Tooomi quad lift at Hakuba Goryu starts it's season from this morning with part of that lower course open. (See the third image below). The top area and base area is not skiable yet though so if you go to the top area you still need to get the Gondola back down to base.

Edited update: Kashimayari are also opening from this morning - their Number 2 pair lift is operating.

Other ski resorts are on standby, opening as soon as they can.

We may not be revelling in deep powder conditions just yet but I for one will be making the most of what we have this morning.
