Tubby Beaver 209
It was a big magnitude.....but low shindo on land.......maybe after the typhoon, they handed out so many helmets and rain coats, they felt their emergency supplies were stretched
sanjo 2
It was the type of quake (mechanism) that had them 'worried'. The kind that gives off tsunami.

scouser 4
Woke me up too that. Hopefully a one-off. There was a quake in the midlands UK as well yesterday. Though I doubt it would have been more than a shindo 1 or so.

big-will 7
Alarmists pointing out that a week or two before 3/11, a similar pattern in the same region of Gifu happened. It is unnerving so many all together, even if they are relatively small.

foreversnow 5
I think those houses are still there. Some people want them to stay and be some sort of memorial, others want them to go. They are certainly a sight to see. I loved those photo's of those house Muika can you repost them??? I watch a you tube video the other day on the tsunami that I hadn't seen. It was a town with a large waterway through the middle, sorry I don't know where it was?? I honestly thought the town was going to be safe with how wide and deep the waterway was BUT that soon became very clear the town was in trouble. SAD!!

634-maru 4
It was surreal watching it on tv when it happened. Can hardly start to imagine what it must have been like seeing your town destroyed like that in real time.
