soubriquet 0
We've had continuous light snow all day. It's stopped now, but still heavy cloud so I hope we see more overnight. Early start for me tomorrow, I'm going to be waiting for the lifts to open at 8.
muikabochi 208
Sounds good, though I can't help feel a little jealous. Take some nice photos will ya?
soubriquet 0
I'll take the camera, sure. What a bummer for you though, with everything gone. I'm really sorry for all you people who've missed out this season.
muikabochi 208
Yeah, we've just had no mid-winter peak season. We have been truly robbed -- but surely it is just a one-off. Have a good day tomorrow!
rach 1
You should invite us all up there soubriquet. Cakes for tea!
soubriquet 0
Just back from a full on session, and all I can say is blurry excellent, the best conditions this season, by far. I was on the snow just as they opened the quads. Followed about 20 boarders up, and two down. There was about 10cm lovely fresh powder over a crusty base. I was getting enough lift from the carvers for them to be going hiss, rather than clatter. Not epic by any means, but ideal for an old man to feel like a ski hero; feet close together, skis parallel. First tracks. Both sets mine. Nice to be out mid-week.

akibun 0
I went to Zao recently and had good time snow was better than I heard especially compared to Niigata and another place. I like the onsen there
soubriquet 0
More snow. It's been snowing lightly all day today, and now it's really picked up. We're going to have 10cm fresh snow in town tomorrow morning, possibly a lot more if this keeps up. Anyone coming up to Yamagata this week can expect to find plenty of fresh snow. soubriquet 0
Not a dump, but we've about 15cm this morning, and still snowing. I'm just about to join the Breughel-esque figures toiling in a black and white landscape, and go and move snow. Sunrise and I are skiing at Zao on Tuesday. Looking forward to that
muikabochi 208
Decent snow here this morning! It feels like winter!

sanjo 2
Actually the forecast seems to be saying more snow over the next few days. Aren't we lucky, who would have thought. A bit of a relief to the end of the season! I'm off down to stay with muikabochi this weekend to check it all out.
Ezorisu 0
For those who are headed up to Hokkaido, there has been some good snowfall for the past few days. 30cm or so overnight in the Southwest. Hopefully it stays cold nad more falls!
soubriquet 0
Back from Zao. Met up with sunrise and had an excellent day. Conditions less than perfect. Lots of fresh snow but cold and windy. Visibility was mostly ok though. Anyway, the snow was good, the legs working well, and I had an excellent companion. Thanks sunrise
joshnii 2
Sounds good. Get any pics there soubs?
soubriquet 0
It wasn't a day for standing around without gloves, but I did get a couple of snaps. They don't do sunrise or Zao any justice so I'll refrain.
Ezorisu 0
Snowed on and off from yesterday morning, so another 40cm or so "up North" as of this morning.
