bobby12 0
Yeah he is always quite arbrupt with the Japanese media. It makes you wonder why really, he is treated like a God here. For the record I thought the Japan team, acted like a bunch of kids on the post match interviews. Nakata was being really rude (fair enough the questions were probably moronic) and one of the other guys was so close to tears he couldnt speak.
Kumapix 0
yeah the interview with nakata was pretty funny. He should know better than to be rude. The announcer asked him 'it seemed like you were overcome with emotion and crying?' Nakata was like 'Oh really?' in a rude way. Nakamura was the one who couldn't talk. I thought he was one of my students that just stand there and refuse to talk
bushpig 0
Because he actually knows a bit about soccer and isn't afraid to say it like it is. He is by far the most tactically aware player of the team, and all real soccer fans that I know here respect him for that. Agree Indosnm, the ref sucked arse in the Aus-Croatia game. Viduka being rugby tackled to the ground in the square, with no foul given was a head scratcher. He seemed to be paying them to the Croatians when we only breathed on them. Was quite funny at the end when all the yellow cards were flying about. The ref confused himself and let the Croation guy play on until his third card right on the whistle! bushpig 0
http://football.guardian.co.uk/worldcup2006/story/0,,1804177,00.html Poll, in charge of Australia's wild and chaotic 2-2 draw with Croatia, booked one player three times but forgot to send him off until after showing him a third yellow, blew for full-time just as what would have been Australia's winner was crossing the line, and also missed a blatant Croatian handball in the penalty area. Hmmmmm.... And not from an Aussie paper either...
Yuki's Passion 1
Seems there have been many bad calls and missed calls. Are the refs payed off by the German mafia? That, and some players acting is just a bit much... theyre lookin at the ref before they hit the ground Not to take away from the World Cup itself. Ive really enjoyed watching many of the games. Amazing athletes, teams, moves, shots, saves, etc... Love that
Kumapix 0
Funny how it's ok when it's the team you're rooting for that gets the nice freekick for the dodgy dive but when it's for the others I'm jumping up and down yelling at the tv!!
Kumapix 0
any Brits on the site who can explain the reasoning behind walcott being on the team? were there politics involved?
bobby12 0
I aleady mentioned that I think he was put in the team to distract fron the Scholari embarassment. If so, it worked very well.
muikabochi 208
Top news.... our local news program is telling us that Japan will win the NEXT World Cup. In 4 years time, remember you heard it here first.
BagOfCrisps 24
I see Mr Poll the English ref was going totally nuts last night in his game. Er, it's 2 yellows makes a red mate, not 3! Surely someone should have pointed it out - don't they have mikes now? Funny headline on 365 before "Fat Ron beats poor Japan" How are they taking it this evening?
bushpig 0
Yeah, he had a shocker! See the article linked above! Nice headline! I've had a lot of people congratulate me (me personally!) They are taking it a lot more gratiously than I would have!
BagOfCrisps 24
I hope they are buying you drinks to congratulate you on your success. Another great headline on 365 now Sven 'Not Married' To Becks http://www.football365.com/news/story_187519.shtml

bushpig 0
just saw an interview with a former coach of Japan. He said that he was really surprised at how obvious the difference was between the skill of the Japanese players and the other teams players. More than ever the shit quality of the J-league has been highlighted was more or less what he was saying.
giggsy 0
Poll had a nightmare. Surely he is finished in major comps now. How we miss Mr Bulgy Eyes he was a class ref.
ShinyDiscoBall 2
I'm watching that too Bushpig. The problem is, the same guy - Okada - was (I'm pretty sure) talking up Japans chances big time and contributing to all the unrealistic shit up front before the games. He's just sobered up now and changed his tune.
ShinyDiscoBall 2
They just talked about the Czechs. I'm sure they said they were FIFA Ranking 2. If that is true - er, WHY??
bushpig 0
yep, well at least he has sobered up. That other guy made a good point that coaching at a very early level (kids) needs to be rethought and looked at differently. Would be nice if this woke Japan up to the fact that soccer training isn't all about drills, drills, drills, and that the kids need to grow up actually messing around in game situations a lot more.
