Sometimes when I watch award show or like this, many time in speech people say something like: "You know what I'm saying" or "You know what I mean" They seem to say it so many time. Why it it?

It's too bad. In my town there are some place for favorite with police. So everybody is driving slowly at those place. They often don't change it. Ask local people and they will help I think.
