Sunny and just a bit warmer today, after that good blast of wind and snow. We’ve still got some wind, although it’s now coming from the west/southwest.

Crazy snow and a lot of wind yesterday and into the early morning today.

Snow seems to be falling all over Japan today, and it really started to pick up here in Myoko from about 7 this morning.

Snow, a lot of wind overnight and cold. Good snow out there today, lots of it in drifts early this morning, and more coming.

The morning news pretty much focused on how warm it’s going to be, and how dangerous the falling snow can be.

A late start to the day (actually, a really early start with way too much to do. But it got done. And happy to share that with you).

A little milder temperatures today; we’re supposed to get snow but the sun has just now decided to come out.

Got out into the backcountry yesterday; the bushes are pretty well covered, there was a lot of snow and some crazy winds at the top.

A somewhat early report today, as I have decided to go up the hill and check on the natural Myoko mountain snow conditions firsthand...

Talk about a turnaround from the start of January; we’re ending the month with, well, almost too much snow (can’t happen! you say... oh there’s a lot of snow to move around out there).

A little more reasonable morning today; it gets busy here in winter! So many things to do, so many people to meet, so much snow (finally) to deal with.

It was quite a day yesterday; too much snow!

I got excited last night when I watched the national weather news, and, on the weather radar there was one very red dot. Right over Myoko.
