Welcome back to Myoko Now

I’ve been expecting to see a notice from Lotte Arai on the last day, but no official notice yet.

I haven’t heard any official word on when Lotte Arai plans to close, but based on reports from people who’ve been there that the days are numbered.

Akakan is running the Myoko Sky Cable gondola from now until May 6, with restaurants open at the top.

Going out on this last day for two of the three remaining resorts—but not to ski, but to look at the early flowers blooming at a castle grounds here in Myoko.

Counting down, and watching the skies clear (and the slopes turn brown).

I wasn’t planning to write every day in this post-regular season, but things keep changing!

A couple of interesting things, so time to share some info with you.

When there’s two cm of snow on the ground, you have to add a report. Even if the sun’s out now, and the snow is gone.

Your report for the week, now that we’re down to two resorts and only four or five lifts.

April is coming in strong today, with high winds from the south and rain likely later in the day.

A quick note on another day of bad weather.

It’s quiet today after a really blustery Tuesday. Crazy strong winds and lashes of rain, then some deep blue skies and sun, and then more rain and wind.

Your reporter is back out on the golf course, or should I say the cross-country ski course for the second day of racing, for levels from primary school to adult men.
