Snowfall at base this season 1090cm

I wasn’t planning to write every day in this post-regular season, but things keep changing!
The official word came down from Akakan yesterday: the season ends on April 12 (although the Myoko Sky Cable gondola will run during the Golden Week holiday at the beginning of May). Going to their website, they have also announced that they are closed today due to strong winds (which are predicted to get even stronger in the afternoon).
Lotte Arai has all three of its late-season lifts marked as operating, although the gondola will be running at reduced speed. They are also warning of potential lift closures due to wind. This wind is really going to eat up what snowpack is remaining, helped by really warm temperatures; I wonder if Seki Onsen will be able to open over the weekend, too? They are having a festival with fireworks tomorrow from 7pm, which of course doesn’t require snow....
