New snowfall at base 120cm
Snowfall at base this season 724cm
Posted on Sunday 25th January 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
I got excited last night when I watched the national weather news, and, on the weather radar there was one very red dot. Right over Myoko. And that data did not disappoint—we have over a meter of new snow on the ground. My measuring board is basically buried.
And it continues to come down.
As always, this is a good day to be with friends even on the resort runs; get upside down (especially boarders) and you’ll need some help getting out.
It’s basically bottomless, unsettled snow out there.
Backcountry will be impossible, at least for the climb, and sluffing is almost certain to happen on steep slopes.
But it also could be a lot of fun, if it doesn’t get too deep to move on flatter runs.
Myoko is back, baby!
And, oh yes, the dog loved riding on the lifts at Kurohime, and even more the un-leashed sections. Sort of an ungroomed run for dogs....
