Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 8cm
Snowfall at base this season 865cm

Posted on Saturday 31st January 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

A somewhat early report today, as I have decided to go up the hill and check on the natural Myoko mountain snow conditions firsthand...

Just a little dusting of snow overnight, but it’s decided in the last 30 minutes or so to come on again. Still really beautiful out there, with those snow-covered trees and round rooflines. In fact, it seems like we’ll have continuous snow of varying amounts right up until the 4th or so.
