minus 1
What a bizarre subject. But what a bizarre thing to do. Theres a few (Japanese) ladies where I work that seem to almost completely shave off their eyebrows, just to paint them on again with makeup. Is this a common practice here? I think they will look like aliens just after a shower.
mattlucas 0
Many of my students do it. Both girls and boys. The boys don't shave them off completly but leave just enough so that you can see them. When I get my hair cut the shaver guy always tries to go in and trim my brows up. Screw off bastard. Leave my mono alone
BagOfCrisps 24
So they shave them off, then pencil them back in? Why? And the lads too!!?
KlingKlang 1
I've noticed that sometimes as well, it looks absolutely ridiculous. I like natural brows - bring them back!
Yuki's Passion 1
Some of my korean friends here have had them tatooed in. Thats a helluva way to avoid putting on makeup eh?
DrMabuse 0
Why are they taking them off in the first place?
muikabochi 208
Painted ones look better. I've noticed this as well, in fact my g/f when I first met her had very very faint eyebrows. I've encouraged her to grow them to be something like normal. Much better.
2pints-mate 0
Quote: Some of my korean friends here have had them tatooed in Are they done nicely? Colors and interesting shapes? Do they look like Maya from SPACE 1999?
Yuki's Passion 1
Dunno, never seen that. Seems thats a pretty popular thing to have done in Korea. Anybody else here bout that?
lin 0
Happily this curious behavoir doesn't seem to be so in vogue here in HK.
lin 0
Maya is the one called Catherine. Funny alien eyebrows.
its-a-clock 0
Yes I've noticed that too. (The eyebrow thing, not Space 1999). It's curious, I cannot see the point. Normal eyebrows are sexy. Shaved stubs are not.
spook 0
my mum's chinese, thankfully she has her own hairy eyebrows, but many of her friends and relatives have had them shaved off and tatooed in. very very odd
sunrise 0
I don't know why either. By the way the term for tatooing eyebrows (or eyeliner, or lips) is, I think, 'permanent makeup', though I'm not sure how permanent it really is.
rach 1
Didn't Maya have funny bobbly things on her alien eyebrows though. Definitely non-human thingies going on there.
base40 0
I used to really have the hots for Maya, even though she was an alien-type. My brother was into the blonde one.
brit-gob 9
Barbara Bain. She always struck me as a big of a "mum figure". As for the shaving off eyebrows, I don't like it think it looks silly. Not into Oasis-style bushes either, but natural eyebrows can be a beautiful thing.
badmigraine 0
Barbara Bain and Martin Landau were married. They met on "Mission Impossible" when she was what passed for a Hottie in those days. Wasn't Space 1999 a Canadian show?
scouser 4
I didn't know that. I thought - purely from seeing it as a kid in England - that it was a uk show. Oh yes, I think the plastic and/or paper wobbly sets made me thing that too.
minus 1
I used to have a crush on Barbara Bain, she sure was a Hottie. Back to the eyebrows, I think I'd rather have Mayas real alien ones than the freaky non-existant ones on a few of the girls round here.
Ocean11 0
Brooke has smokin' eyebrows! Great pic Thunderpants, you've made my evening.
