Chriselle 158
I see the umbrella mark for this weekend in Niigata.....WTF... Last weekend ...I spent a ton of money taking the family to Hakuba only to ski the Saturday and head home early on the Sunday due to rain. Now it's looking like I have to cross my fingers on this weeks trip to Myoko, too. G..damhit...!!
snowdude 44
Nah you will be ok. Suposed to remain cold all week with heavy snow Saturday for all of Kanto, snow in Nagano and Hokiriku. That is unless things change dramatically. But every forecast is pointing to snow and cold.

muikabochi 208
Very slight dusting here. 0.1cm. It is snowing now, but in the kind of way that we might get another 0.1cm by tonight. If you know what I mean.
SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan 178 Posted February 3, 2014 SnowJapan Admin Share Posted February 3, 2014 This kind of weather makes the reports difficult as well. Already had one or two what shall I say 'less honest types' give us some grief about us mentioning rain and crappy conditions and being what they call 'negative'. But if that's what is happening, that's what we need to do our best to report. One person up front demanded we should conveniently not mention rain if it rains because - quote - 'it's not supporting the Japanese snow industry'. No kidding. Would love to 'out' these people. muikabochi 208
Go on do it, we won't tell!

SKI 15
Please don't let people like that pressure any changes.
SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan 178 Posted February 4, 2014 SnowJapan Admin Share Posted February 4, 2014 That won't be happening. We'd stop doing reports before considering moulding them into something - intentionally misleading people is just not what we're about. Anyways ------- just snow, goddamit! Boolugu Mez 3
Don't take it personally, you are certainly supporting the Japanese Snow Industry - it's the weather which isn't being supportive !!!
snowdude 44
Ignore those. You can never keep everyone happy. Always going to be some people complain about this that and the other.
@tokyo 14
Presumably people with accommodation who are 'selling'. I may be being naive, but if I was in that situation I still don't think I'd mislead like that.
634-maru 4
Presumably people with accommodation who are 'selling'. What other people would want snow reports to mislead? Maybe skijo as well I suppose.
Gunma Boarder 14
Well, on the brightside, it's snowing here in the Numata area of Gunma! Not sticking where I am but I'm only around 250 meters. I'm sure the Minakami and Katashina skijos are getting some good snow
HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher 2
I gave up hoping and just wait until I read about new snow. It's less stressful. !
snowdude 44
Cloudy and cold here, looks like it might start snowing any minute now, but........ will know when I get back from Kofu tonight if it did snow or not. It seems that more eastern parts of Yamanashi and Tokyo are more likely to get snow then us here.....(I bloody hope not though)
muikabochi 208
It's all a bit rubbish here still, but on the news just now it said heavy snow for tonight. Please!
