Go Native 70
For those of us living here what do you think of having a thread where we regularly post pics from our houses to keep people up to date with what it actually looks like out there? Sort of a pictorial record of the changing seasons and weather from where we live? If you like the idea I'll start a new thread.
muikabochi 208
I'll do that if we ever get any snow! Would also build up afun interesting gallery on the site.
muikabochi 208
Not snowing here yet.

snowdude 44
That is a good idea! If the snow actually stays until tomorrow then I'll post a pic tomorrow morning to get it started!
snowdude 44
Well very heavy snow now, falling at around 5cm+ per hour.

It doesn't just have to be in snow areas. I'm interested in seeing what other people here see each day from their homes.
panhead_pete 27
Its been snowing here for nearly 24hrs. Am guessing at least 30cm here in Echoland. We are off to Cortina (????) for what seems like will be an epic way to finish my trip.
muikabochi 208
Yuzawa are seems to be missing out. Just 3-4cm on my car this morning though I see that Kagura are saying up to 20cm at the top and 5cm lower down (so different??)
HelperElfMissy 42
Enjoy Pete! You have waited long for good snow falls - great way to finish your trip. Muika - hope the bigger falls get to you later in the day, 3-4cm is such a tease!
snowdude 44
We got about 15cm here, but the snow stopped falling around midnight, otherwise would have been a lot more.
muikabochi 208
Nothing more yet I'm afraid here.
freckles 0
Just cloudy in Yuzawa today really fairly bright. 10cm or snow at Gala Yuzawa the previous night. Hard icy conditions under that thin new layer, pretty much gone by lunchtime.
Go Native 70
Looks like the storm and snow is completely going to miss us now, the system moved through a bit further to the east than expected... No new snow today so far.
snowdude 44
Yes same for honshu the more eastern areas got the heavy snow yesterday, which is why we got it here! Looks like that same storm headed more eastwards in general as it moved up the country.
muikabochi 208
Yep we really did miss out there for the most part. Hate it when it does that! The other side of the mountains got more than us in Minakami. Wonder if that is pretty much it apart from a few more flurries.
NoFakie 45
Lots of fresh today in Hakuba, but super heavy gak lower down. Some pretty good snow higher up at Happo though, but windy as from mid-morning. Hardly anyone out above the gondola, so lots of freshies, esp., with the wind transporting in more snow from higher up. Twice or three times, I was the only person on the Kurobishi lift. The wind closed Skyline at about 1pm. Dunno if it opened again. Usagi was still going at 2:30 when I knocked off. A good day out anyway.
best skier in hakuba 5
Yes I had fun out there today. It wasn't busy at all with that new snow to play in. Perhaps the last like that this season.
stemik 14
a bit of light snow....with the sun trying to poke through.....about 8-10cm overnight outside my house.....probably double that on the mountain
Matt 0
Wednesday was nice but very very wet snow (about 25-30cm maybe) Today was much much better. Probably another 30cm of fresh on the mountain last night - much drier, proper powder - faceshots galore today at Tsugaike. Still can't seem to post video...
