Tubby Beaver 209
what a crappy game. Glad I didn't stay up to watch it. Barca were walking around, Man U looked tired and were a shadow of their former selves...Barca won it without breaking sweat

I don't really think his free kicks are that good, most of them don't threaten the net. When they do go in they are good, but thats not as often as you would think. Players such as Gerrard and Lampard are much better at taking free kicks and Beckham was THE best at them...Ronaldo is a poor imitation IMO
big-will 7
It would be good to see some stats to compare. Ronaldo does miss quite a lot but then comes up with some absolute blinders. He must certainly be one of the best...
bobby12 0
Yes would be interesting to see some stats about who is the best free kick taker of al ltime, Im sure a sunday broadsheet has done a feature on it at some point. I remember Roberto Carlos being decent at them.
rach 1
Ronaldo is obviously a fantastic player in many ways. But, there's the line of thought that Fergie accommodating him is holding others back in a big way. Think Rooney and his positions....

bobby12 0
Difficult to imagine a better free kick isn't it? It would have to be the winning goal in injury time, England vs Germany world cup final or something to beat it.
BagOfCrisps 24
Lots of blinders to be found but a good free kick taker must surely be reckoned on consistency.

2pints-mate 0
Gareth Barry's 12million move to Manchester City stunned the Aston Villa fans yesterday after the England midfielder had said he would only leave for Champions League football. Through an open letter published today in the Birmingham Mail, Barry explained his reasons for signing a five-year, 130,000-a-week deal at Eastlands. 'Once I had spoken to Mark Hughes there was nowhere else I wanted to go,' wrote Barry. 'I was also desperate to avoid any long drawn-out saga and those bags of gold looked mighty fine. 'I feel I am joining a club that is seriously shite, most will not doubt that, but I am convinced that the coin they are offering is totally ridiculous and I will accept it without hesitation. 'I have honestly been very undecided what to do, the manager (Martin O'Neill) and the whole club have bent over backwards to try and persuade me to stay and made me a fantastic offer, which I am extremely grateful for. But, hey, come on.... lets be serious. Crazy wads of cash.'
pie-eater 207
What is wrong in this picture (apart from the silly bugger numbers): WAGES Gareth Barry - £132,000pw Cristiano Ronaldo - £117,500pw
ShinyDiscoBall 2
Wonder what the truth is in all the Kaka stories, looks like we will find out soon enough. One paper has him demanding 10mill for his dad for "acting as a go-between". Deary me. On Barry I think it's obvious that he moved to Manchester City for the glory.
