2pints-mate 0
How often do you take backups of your files on your pc. I always think I will often, but end up not doing it. Bought 2 USB sticks now though for the job and determined to be good about remembering.
2pints-mate 0
I'd be interested to know how people do it as well - usb sticks, discs, external hard drives...?
r45 4
I should do it more often as well, but since I got a memory stick I am saving my "important" things once a month or so.
SirJibAlot 0
Problem is, I have something like 2 Terrabytes to back up, what's the point...how many DVD's am I going to have to burn!
bushpig 0
I backup my important docs, music, and photos (of which I have many) on my external hard drive.
sanjo 2
I have an external drive as well and dump my important doc files in there every so often, basically when I remember!
base40 0
Oops, hardly ever. I know I should though. I don't even know what a terrabyte is!
gerard 6
I should do that. Hey, isn't there any way we could just store all of our crap for work and play on the SJ server?
proudtobegay 0
Once a month I backup my 2 main documents files - and I take 2 copies. It takes about 30 minutes but is worth it for piece of mind.

veronica 2
I don't like the way Outlook lets you export mails into that great big huge file. I back my things up every few months I suppose, but I usually keep photos on CDs.

I have a professional editing system at home and a lot of the files in my 'personal' files include all the build elements and final DVD contents in addition to the raw video files that I have online to actually do the editing with. I'd like to archive these off to BlueRay or some other means and then just delete them from the HDD. But i'm not shelling out 10man yen for a burner. Until then, I just have to prey that my HDD's don't die.
joshnii 2
I have all my "important" (haha) files in one folder on my desktop and I back it up every month or so. Takes 5 minutes or so. I should really backup more but on this current pc haven't yet in a year. Perhaps this week.
69 5
Bought a 120 GB small drive this last weekend just for this purpose, should have done it sooner perhaps.
thursday 1
yeah, did the same thing a few months back. Got a 160G drive for all my photos for the home PC. These are my most important files. Workwise, all my important files are on the server, so that gets backed up daily.
wendy-cake 0
Er, never. Should I?

For other files I need to keep I have one folder on my desktop and just throw that onto a memory stick every few weeks. I also with the email was easier to export.
snoozler 0
Same here. Usually about once a month. Friend of mine lost ALL of his photos (over 10,000 of them). He was distraught.
