It was just getting started as well....

Next time I will be sure to fall out of my bed to avoid an injury. (Not that there will be a next time here of course).

This years "heavy" snow
muikabochi replied to 7-11's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Had a roof collapse in my neighbourhood last night. Made a right noise, sounded like an earthquake. Got to admit, I'm getting tired of moving snow and I want to see the sun. -
Me too. Anyhow it's delish here anyway. I'd like to try water from other places to compare.

rahul - any idea on when it might stop snowing here? I'm afraid my house is going to collapse if much more falls.

Poor old Fuji-san

We don't need snow over there. Let it fall over here. -
Day at Iwappara
muikabochi replied to snowboarding-sam's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Everyone will have their own best. I think Iwappara is ok (and probably one of the best places out there for beginners) but not a huge amount of challenge there - the top is good fun though. You can pretty much see it from the pics that ssam posted. Bigger places are Kagura/Naeba. Check out the reviews and journals and stuff on the site, there is already a ton of info on here. -
9 - 9 Any earlier I'm not in the mood to speak.

There's almost none of that kind of thing on these forums mate - what you posted above is probably the first I've actually seen and I'm on here most days.

Day at Iwappara
muikabochi replied to snowboarding-sam's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Try some of these places to stay http://www.snowjapan.com/e/hotel/index-niigata.html Garden cress and Pit inn are both actually ON (within) Iwappara. -
nagano - yuzawa
muikabochi replied to boardbaka's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Trains are messy. I think local lines is get the Iiyama line to Tokamachi then get Hokuhoku line to Yuzawa. Or better get a friend to drive: From Nagano > past Nozawa > through Tsunan > Route 353 over to Ishiuchi > Yuzawa. Probably about 2 hours maybe a bit more. -
Day at Iwappara
muikabochi replied to snowboarding-sam's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Views from the top there are really good - you can see my house (well, where my house is) as well looking over the other side towards Muikamachi. -
Ski lifts
muikabochi replied to snowboarding-sam's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I don't suppose there's much business in new lifts these days. -
Some of them changed here some not. Good use of money. Oh yes, and it's still snowing.

Dogs and Demons, popular that one.

You would think I had better things to do than be messing about online on "ibu". Not keen on another day in a blizzard though, so I'm gonna chill.
