Quote: another annoying thing is when people decide to stop for a break or picnic in the middle of the slope! And when they do it SUDDENLY. The thing annoys me most is people sitting down on the snow just off the lift making it almost impossible to get past. Drives me nuts. -
Cancelling travel plans
window-cleaner replied to keba's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
We cancelled our trip. Friend got ill, aussie currency got ill, we got poor. Almost pleased personally that the snow has generally been not good (though obviously sorry for those who went with bad timing snow wise) Hopefully things'll turn around for next season. -
Hi folks A friend of mine is going to be living in Akita city from the summer. I'm thinking it might be good to check that area out and visit him next winter. Anyone on here in that area? Seems it gets snow but there aren't major resorts up there.

Why are tattoos always that dirty colour looking - dirty greys, dirty reds, etc. Why not some lovely fluoro pinks and greens and generally brighter colours?

Hey I've heard conflicting reports about prices of things in Niseko this season - some people saying it's more expensive. I suppose they might be slapping a bit more on prices to take advantage of all the visitors. I have just booked for next season though and the prices of accommodation seemed to be lower than they were last time. Anyone?

So many Australians are now bulging at the waistline that ambulances are being equipped with heavy-duty stretchers. These are capable of carrying patients weighing up to 220kg (34 st 9 lbs). Have a good time, those monkeys are excellent. If you can get there when it's snowing a bit all the better. Don't forget your camera as well -

A few months before the season is when I start getting myself fit after lazing around for a bit at the end of a season. Like most things if there's a goal... -
Japan powder

Japan powder doesn't really compare with Australian powder. One if much better than the other. Guess which?
