i had calf's brains in france. i had just arrived for a semester abroad and i thought i was eating tofu at first. it wasn't that bad. even though a lot of people like it, i find liver minging.

i always have both turkey and ham for thanksgiving and xmas. this years was quite a feast- appetizers all morning and afternoon, then the meal at 6, cheese course (first time for me to have after not before the meal), and finally dessert around 10. i could hardly move by the end of it.

i went to college with minoru yamasaki's grandson. the first time i went to new york city i was with him. i didn't know that his grandfather designed the towers so i thought it was strange when his sister asked if we'd been to the lobby of the the first building. but then we went, and i saw his grandfather's name on the wall.

just got back from goryu/47. new years eve wasnt that crowded at all- the line for the quad at 47 was shorter than on the weekends, but on the 2nd the slopes were packed.

so i've been throwing my boots liners by the heater to dry them out and now one of them has shrunk!! it's visibly smaller than the other and kinda warped. to make matters worse, it's the right one and i've got a huge ass nasty blister on my right heel, prolly from the boots not fitting properly. taking the day off today from xmas and bonenkai partying, so i dont know if i should just head out and buy new boots today before heading to kauba for a week or just wait and see how they go on the slopes (but if they suck i wont be able to get a big shop). so frustrated bc all the midrange gear i

nope i'm a wimp. and didnt want to risk losing someone else's pass. but there was some good stuff out in the open that i got stuck in. i still need to build my confidence for the trees.

definitely go if you get the chance. and get there early to get as much free sake as you can! its lots of fun and totally crazy. you do have to be careful of the drunk men playing with fire. i've known some people who've gotten little burns. v interesting experience.

hmmm, i think it happened this weekend... started snowing friday in nagano and didnt stop til saturday night . my car in omachi was buried... could only see it by the sideview mirrors sticking out.

nope didnt buy a pass, but my friend did and she's in thailand til january . couldnt believe how much it snowed over the weekend... conditions were fab!

did anyone read the article in time magazine last week about the aids problem in china? some quotes-- "even today, 1 out of 5 chinese have never heard of aids." in a survey in 2002 "among female sex workers, 89% were unaware of their risk of contracting hiv. a majority of sex workers, about 60%, reported inconsistant condom use." so yeah siren, it may have been a commercial transaction, but how many condoms do you think were used? out of the 500 prostitutes, do you think they were all hiv-negative?

hazing is the shit you have to do while you are pledging the frat or sorority (for the ladies). i didnt have any at my school, but my friend who was in a sorority at another school said the pledge period consisted of lotsa binge drinking and being a bitch (as in beer bitch not mean bitch) to the other sisters. theres a whole big pairing of sorority sisters each year- new pledges are assigned an older member to show them the ropes, and their big sister's sister is in the same family. you then buy a bunch of crap with your sorority's letters and colors for your little and big sisters or somet
