  1. I like dogmatic....precisely the way my boss operates and gives me an excuse to think of him as being of canine blood.
  2. Cheers again...bad dose of the giggles here and a few stares to go with it....
  3. Mogski.....i have to take issue with your coal mine analogy. Definitely not porly paid
  4. Hehehehehe....very good Markie! I hope sharing that little story doesn't get you in too much trouble!!!
  5. She didn't wallop the Dr although i took a fair beating when i asked how he signed off from the cervical exam!
  6. Shared a house in Marrickville Sydney with 3 mates for a couple of years and swear nobody could compete with us in the disgusting stakes. One night while watching TV a mouse runs down the hall....nobody moves. A few seconds later another one rushed down the hall into the Kitchen. Me to my Mate: Me: "matty, i think we've got mice in the house" Matty: "Yeah. What's on Fox?" After the mice had cleared us out of 3 months worth of cereal we decided to move all our food to another room. Didn't trick the mice for long. Only eventually decided to move out when one of the guys wok
  7. .....and the Doctor's a lucky bloke too!
  8. Rather amusing, depending on which way you look at it, story from my fiance recently. Headed off to a local GP for the annual company medical. The old fella giving her the once over must have really enjoyed the breast cancer examination because as he was finishing he simultaneously pinched both her nipples while exclaiming "Owari!" Try getting away with that in Oz!
  9. Can't say i've seen many Japanese wearing the flag pinned to their suit, but i have seen a lot wearing their company emblem. Seems to me the Japanese salaryman takes his identity just as much, if not more so, from his company than his country.
  10. Danz, i understand your post was in jest, but i just wanted to say that i really respect the baton dudes. They've got a bum job, which must be as boring as all hell, yet they always seem to take "pride" in staying alert and doing the job properly. Give that job to an Aussie and within five minutes he'd have destroyed the baton and developed a chip on his shoulder the size of Ayers Rock.
  11. At ski resort, got drunk, woke up with hangover, stepped into hot shower, passed out, smashed face on tiled floor, twenty one stitches in face, end of trip.
  12. I always enjoy employing the kind of dance style seen in the old Fatboy Slim video...what was it called...Praise??? Guaranteed to clear the dance floor!
  13. Have to admit when i was young and new to my job (and easily impressed) i dated one for a while in Sydney. Nice enough girl.... There is one next to the Hilton Hotel on George Street (basement level) called "Kylies" (or Kairies to the locals). Behind the McDonalds in Neutral Bay on Military Rd called Misono. Another at Crows Nest on Falcon Street called Falcons Nest. There is another behind Kings Cross, maybe Potts Point, called Crescent. There is also a Korean establishment in a Surrey Hills terrace house which is hideously expensive, the name of which i can't remember. Also another Kore
  14. I feel your pain...not sure why they call it Moneyline, cause all i've seen so far is news re Iraq?
  15. One change i have noticed is the morning news program from HK changes to an American Political news show at 8am in the morning. They also seem to be showing the Amerixan Morning news in the evening as well. Not happy Jan....
  16. Boy am i feeling old or what..... Anybody no of such great indie rockers as: buffalo tom Dinosaur Jr You am i Violotine etc....
  17. I was referring to the "discussion" being all a bit self important, not any person in particular.
  18. ROFLMAO at Oceans attempt at a Japanese schoolgirl. 100% on the money.
  19. I have the rather dubious honor of being dragged to these places most weeks through work. Woy Woy, when i was in Sydney i knew of at least 5 that were operating - all staffed by girls on students visas. You'd never even know they are there unless someone showed you - very discreet.
  20. Slightly off topic, but those of you rolling your eyes at the notion that locals could never instigate violence are being a little naive. I've been physically assaulted by locals in the past and while the situation was resolved without too much drama, i would never be so complacent as to believe its never on the menu.
  21. I'm one of those ignoramuses who likes his rice like porridge anyway, so the expensive stuff is wasted on me.
  22. Ah, a real sport. 2003, the year of the Waratahs...maybe, well almost, well..... Bad news with McCrae getting injured on the weekend. Rogers to the fore!
  23. Yeah, it was on the big gondola half way between the mid station and the top. I probably didn't go out half as far as what it felt but i did have to grab the other door to pull myself back in. My only bad experience of the whole weekend....my first time to Nozawa and otherwise very impressed!
