  1. I was thinking of either Yuzawa or going a bit further to Nozawa. It depends on the famous Friend With The Car.
  2. This looks like a good deal. Anyone ever tried it? I can cope with a bus ride if its at that price http://www.snowjapan.com/e/spotlight/pineridge-eventsinfo.html
  3. We could sure do without that. Here's some more info if you're interested: http://exodus2006.com/supervol.html
  4. So, has the earthquake of last year affected the numbers of the hills over in Niigata at all?
  5. Not seen them but on their Japanese site it says 2-3 weeks for delivery.
  6. Seen some of them in Tokyo - bought some for back home actually. They look quite realistic.
  7. They seem to close either all or parts of the left hand side of Gala a fair bit. Perhaps its just the times I've been, but thats the impression I get. Some steep slopes there, so it takes a while to open as they get enough snow but even when there's a lot I've seen it closed. Too much snow perhaps? Not sure that area gets much wind going on.
  8. First time here since new year, hey I like the changes Sounds like I missed some fun.
  9. Quote: That wouldn't have anything to do with the snow depth for Kagura (reported on this site) having been STUCK on 240 cm for the past week - would it??? >>>>> http://www.princehotels.co.jp/ski/kagura/index.html 240 it is.
  10. bobby and his bad english accent and "don't leave home without us" (a travel agency) cracks me up
  11. I just saw a short thing on discovery channel (?) that showed some city skylines from around the world - some of them looked awesome even if I never really heard of the places. Do you have a favorite city skyline? with pics?
  12. I agree, its a pain when it goes dark so early. Even in summer it goes dark fairly early here. I'd much rather have the light myself.
  13. God watching them things makes me not want to vote for either, they are so painful to watch and listen to.
  14. I like in Green House. Doesn't have quite the same sound as White does it?
  15. Quite a few of my friends are alts, there seems to be a good community of the hard-working variety here in Saitama. There are regular training sessions *not sure if this is organised by the ken or not* and they seem to generally not try to be teachers but do what an aet can do best - join in, let the kids get to know them, communicate with them, etc. Theres not much worse than an alt being taken to a class and either not used or be a cause of *not positive* humor - thats good for no-one.
  16. Some of my teachers are still on there, amazed their still going. Mr Evans must be getting on for 70 now. I've given the old codger a vote.
  17. It was from the nickname fwendy "friend", given to the author by a young friend. However, there is some evidence that the name may have been used prior to the play, in which case it could be related to the Welsh name GWENDOLEN or other names beginning with gwen meaning "white, fair, blessed". They have Japanese names on there too.
  18. It'll go soon Some of the silly tunes Japanese pay to download to use as the ring tone for their mobile phones sure have their knockers, but it's for precisely that reason that a well-known counselor is raking it in at the moment, according to Shukan Gendai (10/2). Hideto Tomabechi -- who first made headlines in Japan almost a decade ago after he cured brainwashed members of the AUM Shinrikyo doomsday cult that unleashed deadly sarin gas on the Tokyo subway system -- claims to have developed a tune for ring tones that promises to increase the breast measurements of those who listen
