neversummer 0
Love the stuff. Brought some over from Japan but have run out..Bought some in an Asian supermarket but it is so much darker and doesn't have the same taste as the miso I was used to in Japan. How many different types are there? I'm probably being terribly naive.
night-mare 0
I didn't like it at first, but grown to love it.

lin 0
There are many kinds of miso. I think the main types are "akamiso" and "shiromiso".

scouser 4
When it's used sparingly. Stong miso paste on cold boiled vegetables ain't something I'm really keen on.
Ocean11 0
The stuff they put on tonkatsu in Nagoya is like road tar. It kills the taste of the tonkatsu completely, and it hurts your nose like bitumen. Most other miso is great though.
kintaro 0
I don't like Nagoya miso either. Just had some last weekend. I think it tastes like consume. All others are good.
moby 0
Is there a special name for that Nagoya blend of miso? I think I might have had some, it was really strong and I could hardly swallow it. Bad. But a mild miso flavor is very pleasant.
TheOrange 0
Miso ramen is a fave, so much better than a normal one. There's a cracking ramen shop just up the road from me- usually go a couple of times a month.
bagpuss 0
Miso, mayo and egg sandwhich. Yum.

indosnm 0
Yep, Nagoya's Miso ( the really RED and strong one) is pretty hardcore. My wife being a Nagoya jin loves it strong. I can eat a little bit but prefer mixed miso ( lighter flav & color)
damian 0
I really really like miso soup. It is one of the things I look fwd to each time I try a new restaurant; get to see what their special feature is. I also don't mind the red stuff with little shells in it. Sometimes I get a really big steaming bowl of miso and I am happily sipping away when mid-sip with my eyelevel close to the soup, a decapitated fish head bobs up and looks me in the eye. I usually poke him back down under the surface. No need to make eye contact with my soup.
LiquidX 0
Ha, I hate it when that happens. Damn fish heads. I can't stomach miso soup in a morning though, just doesn't seem right. In the evening, fine; first thing in the morning, no way.
cheeseman 1
I sometimes put a little miso on a cracker with a piece of cheese. Too much and it's too much. But a little is fine.
