brit-gob 9
Seems Brosnan's out of the Bond role and rumour has it another Aussie's going to be the next 007 - Hugh Jackman. http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/showbiz/articles/9047719?source=Evening%20Standard
nzlegend 1
"He is the most successful 007 of all" - Pierce Brosnan eh? maybe in terms of the Box Office receipts, but while PB was a good Bond he wasnt Sean Connery. Sean Connery was is and will always be Bond, James Bond.
SKI 15
Who was the best is purely a matter of opinion. The fact is, Brosnan is the most successful 007 of all.
grungy-gonads 54
Is that confirmed, I've read conflicting things...
IIIII 2
Seems so. Not sure about this "back to the first mission" idea though.
frannyo 2
Actually. I think you'll find that with the numbers adjusted to make them comparable, Thunderball is the most successful Bond flick. Starring Sean Connery.
nzlegend 1
Yes Frannyo you are spot on Thunderball the most succesful Bond Movie of "its" time. Goldfinger second. PB nowhere to be seen. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/adjusted/
snobee 0
One major point with the old SC bond flix was they had almost NO competition. The genre was unique & fresh at the time with "sensational" stunts and incredible story lines. A captivated market for sure. Making a truly successful bond film now is in the hard basket I think. Dims 0
Good point there snobee. Still I have to say that connery was the best bond, just had the right "swagger" and that cheeky grin. The smooth accent didn't hurt either. And let's face it, sean is still seen by many women as damn sexy and he is getting on a bit. Goldeneye was a cracker though in my book, helped on by an excellent videogame tie-in on the N64

TheOrange 0
George Lazenby Ski jumps in a tux. With a gun.
TheOrange 0
FOR NOW, Brosnan is still Bond, according to the people in charge. Sounds very diplomatic. ---- http://www.empireonline.co.uk/site/news/newsstory.asp?news_id=15595

Karnidge 2
Ah so thats why Dalton only lasted a short time. Interesting to see that. 60s 70s film posters are hilarious aren't they?
scouser 4
They should change the screenwriters rather than Brosnan.
BagOfCrisps 24
I think so too - an early Bond might be just what is needed instead of just going "bigger and (not) better" every time. But Brozzer don't fit into that picture.
veronica 2
I think they need someone younger. I hope Brosnan finishes before he gets too old - Moore in that last one he did was a complete joke. He looked about 70.
OnTheTin 0
A View to a Kill? Apart from the laughable title, Moore looked like he needed a wheelchair. Love scenes with Grace Jones and that blonde squeeker were side-slitting (unintentionally). And the less said about the snowboarding scene, the better. The only redeeming feature of that flick was Christopher Walken doing his best - he's always good is Walken.
