eskimobasecamp 0
i mostly read TGR, skipass, biglines and occasionally click onto newschoolers but there's never anything that interesting there. and yes thank you for your concern, i do infact have a brain

eskimobasecamp 0
i kinda just look at stuff on the websites, articles and info, and i read the TGR forum because it's ehhhh a bit more ehhh mountain and gear oriented and those maggots know what they are talking about mostly just look at SJ and TGR skipass the french site always has good porn and ski reviews biglines has great pics newschoolers has good event info TGR has it all baby

I probably just saw it on a bad day. EBC... Does Big Lines have a forum? All this time I thought it was just a ski photo hosting site. I've never actually visited it. I looked at TGR a few times recently and it doesn't really suit me (although there are some extremely funny people there). It has some very good stuff within. I don't like the TGR movie culture much, I'm more talking the forum aspect of TGR as a source of motivation and practical info.
SerreChe 2
Some of the other forums have more "mountaineers", while SJ tends to have more of a resort-going population overall. So, if you want some info about which Ice Crampons are best, then there are other very informative sites/forums, but I bet SJ will change over time, and it has already started. More people doing BC etc. And in fact the number of FTs, Spuds, Toques, Montoyas, etc is growing even if some of them do not have that much time to post anymore. I do remember Spud posting a lot of info about Ice Axes for example. I like camptocamp for topos and conditions back home. I think SJ has one of the best snow-related web interface though, and it is getting better every year! Where is it gonna stop! So, who's gonna post the first ice axe or ice crampons review in the gear section of SJ?
eskimobasecamp 0
Yeh Big Lines has a forum and a lot of good articles.... HAHA i just clicked on and Maria is on the front page.... wicked chick!! Her and her sister are living the life man. Yeh i just read TGR forum too, very good for practical info, esp gear stuff and the TRs are awesome.

damian 0
Serre - I asked SJ to have a section in the review functionality allowing for gear reviews besides boards. I am sure it will be in future developments. Certain care needs to be taken as the 'BC crowd' can develop a distinctly elitist smell. I constantly censor myself when I find some misplaced resort contempt has snuck into a post. Still, quite a bit gets through. On the flip side, its hard for a forum to talk about resorts all the time beyond purely informational enquiry from new players in the region. Skiing as a recreational pastime is not a very interesting topic to talk about (or participate in), so most people obsess about other thing: gear, BC, travelling to new places, teasing Niseko. I am still looking for a snow forum that offers all the things I want. It seem language is my biggest problem.
SerreChe 2
FT,how are those reviews coming? Skis or other stuff? Spud, I think SJ is thinking about it for sure. I think the BC and resort crowds mix well in this forum. By the way, interesting how much a change in color setting can reveal when it comes to your avatar!
