NECK 14
So looks like it will be left to just rot away then Will be interesting to see how much damage the elements will do in just one season without maintenance ......
muikabochi 208
Well, the new company that owns it might do maintenance. Seems odd anyway doesn't it, some company taking it over and then being told they can't open it.
snowbender 3
Wow didn't think they'd let that happen.

pie-eater 207
I wonder if they "renewal next year" will be as impressive as the "renewal next year" at Kayama Captain Coast. (A few years ago).

Metabo Oyaji 71
Perhaps just as well that they take some time off before reopening, and try to come up with a better new name for their resort than "Kandatsu Plateau."

muikabochi 208
I did hear that the previous owners was Macearth, but that seems odd given the 'ran away' problem last spring. All very murky.
muikabochi 208
Some more local talk for those interested in the gossip. Apparently, Yuzawa was pissed with the new Kandatsu people for selling season tickets to people without having any kind of permission to operate the resort this season. That riled them up and was one reason (?) why permission to operate was not granted - lack of trust? Well, that's the story anyway.
Tubby Beaver 209
Why is it they need permission to open?

joshnii 2
This may be a dumb question but.. how were they able to buy the skijo? Surely the town who owns the land would have some sort of say in it's sale?

NoFakie 45
This may be a dumb question but.. how were they able to buy the skijo? Surely the town who owns the land would have some sort of say in it's sale? Just a guess but when a house is bought and sold leasehold not freehold, is the landowner contacted so as to have some say? I doubt they are. The same must apply to apartments in a block built on someone else's land.
muikabochi 208
Still, I think if I were buying a ski hill, I might investigate if I could actually open it or not first before buying!
