BagOfCrisps 24
PS I updated without knowing about it. Suddenly I found myself with it. Seems ok, browsers don't exite me.
RobBright 35
if you're used to using IE, then update it. most browsers nowadays copy each other from iteration to iteration.

IE8 will be OK if you are prepared for an inferior browser.
thursday 1
just installed Firefox 3.5. Seems a bit faster than IE. And it has a spell check. Mystery solved. tyre is not accepted (ie underlined) whereas tire is.
RobBright 35
download one?
kokodoko 67
Get both. Some things work on FF, some on IE8. I can only get the surfcams to work on IE8, so I use it when i need to. You use the tool that works for the job.
snowdude 44
IE sux big time, biggest pile of turd ever made. I only use firefox, and it works with everything I have smooth as can be. You can also down load and instal various plugins to suit your needs. I have the fast dial on mine, very handy, got loads of webpages on the front page, just one click and I am at my favourite sites. frannyo 2
I think IE is fantastic, definitely better than Firefox.

Jynxx 4
Safari doesn't work with e-bay in Germany. Firefox does.
Go Native 70
I've started using Chrome recently and love it.
bobby12 0
IE8 handles RSS better, otherwise Firefox all the way. Chrome will be the one to have in a few years time when it is more developed. I also heard Google is main funder for Firefox, so difficult to imagine them both existing once google gets behind chrome properly.
thursday 1
trying out Firefox right now.

Tubby Beaver 209
I must be missing something because for me they are all the same. What exactly does one or the other do better?
BagOfCrisps 24
For mere mortals, close to sod all. I'm sure you'll hear all sorts of things like speed and stuff but it's hardly noticeably. Not to me anyway. You need to be a geek to care I think.

thursday 1
Power Users like web developers will know what to tweak to get the best performance from the browser. Us mere mortals can call them geeks. Think about this, Michael Soft Excel has "Calculation" on automatic. If you have a very complex spreadsheet, you need that turned to manual otherwise it will go into its calculation routine every time you change a variable. Only power users (geeks) will know to turn that off.
