thursday 1
My apps are for Iphone. So have to 2x them for the Ipad. Damn. Want Ipad apps pronto. Developers: DO YOU HEAR????
HelperElfMissy 42
Sorry...? Does that mean you have to pay for each app TWICE?
grungy-gonads 54
Well, it's not quite as simple as that. You can use most iphone apps on the ipad. That costs nothing extra. If you have bought the iphone app, then you pay no more to use it on the ipad. You either choose to use it the same size so the app appears in the middle of the big ipad screen, exactly the same size as it is on the iphone, or you can 2X magnify it. However this as you might expect makes it look 'less than HD'. Some apps have separate ipad versions that are made just for the ipad. You sometimes have to pay separately for those. But what exactly is unreasonable about that? The new ipad version doesn't just popup out of nowhere. It costs the developers money to, er, develop it. It seems totally reasonable to me that they charge for them if they so wish. Do you spend weeks/months working on a work project and then give it away?
thursday 1
sometimes there are 2 versions. 1 for Iphone, 1 for Ipad, often at different prices.
grungy-gonads 54
Yes as I said. And what is wrong with the ipad version, usually requiring more work due to the size and specs, costing more?
