Why you chose snowboarding or skiing?

Snowboarding looked more fun to me right from the start. Skiing also looked kinda silly - not into all that stick nonsense or the waggling of bottom nonsense.

 

 

How about you? How did you choose?

Well there was no snowboarding around when I started. Skiing still looks like more fun to me. Each to his own though.

My parents were really into skiing and taught me from when I was a little one. So it's been skiing for me all the way.

was surfing before i hit the snow, and i thought that i could use some of my surfing technique on a snowboard, so snowboarding it was!

i don't regret my choice, but i would love to try some skiing, hopefully next season!

Depends on the snow conditions. Both are fun.

For powder, I prefer snowboarding.

I also love some nice steep packed snow on skis.

Actually I used to skate and surf so snowboarding just seemed like a natural thing to do. Definitely would like to give skiing a go one day though!

natural progression. always surfed and at tha time- 1989- snowboarding was being promoted as `The alternative winter sport for surfers`. Even though winter is the best time of year to surf where i come from, the water has the ability to turn ya privates into, well, it gets cold.

wasn`t hooked immediately, but it wasn`t long before it became a `way of life`, just like surfing. haven`t looked back since

I grew up with skiing (no real snowboarding scene when I was a kid), but learnt snowboarding as well 5 years back. I now enjoy both depending on the day, the snow and how I feel.

Same here, I now do both. I had a good shot at both this season, even swapping lunchtime on a few days.
