kkk 7
Level 1 is pretty tough. I remember going through from, at each level there were more and more Chinese and other Asians (?). The bottom level it was almost all Westerners.
bobby12 0
yeh, 2kyu was about 95% chinese/eastern asians. even when i took it in london there was a high proportion of chinese there.
Zer0star 0
Yay, finally found a JLPT thread. Anyone taking the test this year?? It's time to tame the 1kyu beast this time. Is it a coincidence that this test in on the same weekend that a lot of resorts open??

SKI 15
Yes when is it? I thought it was usually early December.
Go Native 70
I certainly won't be doing any tests. I hardly know any Japanese beyond the very basics and can recognise only a few kanji. At the rate I'm going I doubt very much that I will ever get anywhere near fluent no matter how many years I live here.
Zer0star 0
Next test is Sunday December 6th. anyone looking for past papaers try here- jlpt.biz

bobby12 0
They also made a 2.5 kyu, to bridge the enormous gap twixt 2 and 3.
scouser 4
Given up on them. Doesn't really do any good other than frustrate me at having to learn all those kanji and doesn't seem to improve my Japanese generally.

Go Native 70
I just wonder how any of you find or justify the time to put the study in. It's very hard here in Niseko as we can really easily get by without ever speaking Japanese. I actually took time off work last year to do a course in Sapporo. 12 months later and I've forgotten most of it because I so rarely use it. Hard to motivate myself to learn it when I virtually never use it.
