  1. start at first lift for me, 30 min break for lunch then an early finish, say 2.30 - 3pm ish. All depending on how fit I am at the time though
  2. Hi Guys, Sorry for another "how do I get to......." I am concerned with timings for our trip. We arrive in Tokyo at 5.15pm on Friday 23 December and are travelling to Hakuba. Initially we were going to use Chuo Taxi at 11,000 yen per person per way. However they now say we may end up waiting for them at the airport for up to 2 hours and then have a 7 hour journey to Hakuba. That means getting in anywhere around 3am However I went to look at trains and then the bus from Nagano etc and can't find a decent connection as it appears the last Nagano bus leaves 8.30pm and this

  6. I was keen to see whether the Japan locals saw this is a good thing. For me investment is clearly a good thing, but it need be controlled to ensure no saturation.
  7. aaggggghhhhh Seriously, great report. Great photos. I'm just very jealous !
  8. I bought a Dakine high roller which is very well made and will easily carry 2 sets of ski's. Would carry boots as well but be careful on the airline weight allowance.
  9. nice shot EBC Is anyone else in pain about wanting to ski

Id rather have that money and use it for something worthwhile. A nicer ring for my wife maybe, a longer/nicer honeymoon, whatever. C) 13 months honeymoon surfing the world using the same money we would have spent in a day... She picked C! Then I knew I had the right chick for me! wow, what a fantastic experience

But that is that the skiers I know, at all levels of experience and ability, are used to travelling a long way. Even when living in England we would take a longer trip to the US even though mainland Europe was a short flight away. (Also I am only a strong intermediate skier so it wasn't like I was looking for extreme terrain). I know plenty of fair weather skiers who also would happily travel 12 - 1
  14. a very interesting thread. When thinking about the common facilities the linked ski areas I have been to all had, they include a common ski pass as mentioned earlier but also a very good bus service easily linking all areas. Until transportation and a common ski pass is introduced then growth will be inhibited IMHO. I don't think accessability is a real problem, passionate sliders, whether skiers or boarders generally expect to have to travel.

I am confident that you wont have to do that. I imagine 300 people traipsing though FT's lodge carrying laptops
  16. watched The Departed on the weekend, Scorsese's latest with an awesome cast. A remake but brilliantly done Highly recommended,.
  17. sorry to hear your news. It's very sad.
  18. I can listen to music anytime. When in the mountains I want to hear the natural environment or people whooping and hollering when having fun. The last thing I would want is music in my ear. IMHO
