IwateKen replied to aomorigum's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
It was 'rocking' this morning, but always 'rocks' in a better way. I've been here a while now and love the region. -
Scary that was - again.

I used to have many friend and colleague I know using packinko but recently it is less popular I think. It is good that some is not so bright now though I think.

Arai's the bomb
IwateKen replied to snobee's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
When I went to Arai I was surprised at not so much snow at town level, but so much on mountain. Like in other not so far area like Yuzawa there is much more snow at town level I think. -
Best to change before everyone else does it - usually after first snow. We have many accident round that time, I work in insurance and know it so well!

We had a parrot bird when I was younger and one time it flew out of cage and drank some sake. It was quite ill for few days. I don't think it ever drank it again.

I saw Spinal Tap last night, for first time since long time ago. It's so funny. -
F1 actually (shock!) interesting this year?
IwateKen replied to Karnidge's topic in General off-topic discussions
I used to go to Suzuka each year (big distance from Iwate) for Japanese GP but stopped last season. I still watch on TV though maybe this year was better than last year. I'm glad that somebody else can be champion -
My wife sister was living in New Orleans until last month, I suppose lucky to move then. I visit it and thought great town. The news is sad.
