  1. It amused me to just realise that I will be much closer to 150 minutes than I will be to 150 days.
  2. Hi daffodil. There are a good few places to start with "info on Japan" and general stuff. http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthreads.php/search.html http://www.snowjapan.com/e/start-here.html
  3. How can you be bored after 2 weeks?!? Have you made any friends? Have your colleagues at work (presuming you are actually working) not taken you out or let you know about things in the area?
  4. I hope she doesn't impress people. Looks like she's going with the hockey mom, I'm an outsider card hard. She is just so unbearably annoying.
  5. BTW, are resorts putting up lift ticket prices this season due to oil prices etc?
  6. Sorry, just a lighthearted moment. Quite warm these last few days. Still early though.
  7. Definitely. And not just speaking skills but being used to actually interacting with non-Japanese. I would imagine particularly so in inaka areas. Of course, it should have been more effective than it has been, but there is a level of effectiveness achieved.
  8. I don't have much interaction with kids now (well none actually) but I remember getting questions like "why are you not Japanese" and "do foreigners eat food" and things like that. Actually, adults ask some pretty dumb questions as well sometimes!
  9. Got one bought, been using it for a few days now. Fun isn't it. I am learning how to not spray everywhere with toothpaste the difficult way though.
  10. Difficult to say, will depend on the snow (of course). I am within reach of a few places that gets snow, so whichever gives me first choice will WIN!
  11. Sam, you look remarkably like your brother! Just think, the sooner it is done, the sooner you can be doing other things. I know what you mean though, it's difficult sometimes.
  12. More and more of my English vocabulary is becoming more extinct the more I live in Japan and don't speak that much (more than basic) English.
  13. I just liked the look of it and so gave it a go. Simple really. The big downer is the cash needed, it's not the cheapest thing to take up if you're borderline.
  14. Oh I remember the Amiga my older brother had one and it was AMAZING. ( Is it still? )
  15. Fantastic place to take some interesting photos. Worth a visit if you are nearby definitely.
  16. Well the event last week was fun. Lots of yoyshoi or whatever it is, lots of friendliness and food and lots of sake. I actually have made a point to try and keep on this friendliness with some of the people I was with last week - hope they feel the same way!!
  17. I've decided I'm going to get one. I might have missed this, but --- do you use normal toothpaste with these things?
