  1. A big one does that to you it seems, I felt it too.
  2. I like Elaine, the 'dances' are funny. Wouldn't want her as a friend though.
  3. Felt that here even, just a bit. Happily, it didn't freak me out much at all. Thats a good sign.
  4. I know quite a few people from here that are going to Niseko - and a fair few for the first time. Perhaps they just don't talk about it so much...... it's not as if you know everyone on here Fattwins, hey
  5. I saw the box yesterday afternoon The one with the light on is class!
  6. Cell by Stephen King. Quite interesting so far actually.
  7. Happened to me as well frannyo. But more often than not they have been pretty good I thought.
  8. In the Tokyo area?!? I never thought of us being in the Tokyo area!
  9. It is very dangerous, I had my first complete white out experience yesterday driving - I really could not see anything, the road, the side of the roads, any lights, signs... just white/grey. A bit hairy it was.
  10. Yes it is a good one that first one isn't it oblivion. My famous Amazing Wall of Snow.
  11. Where was that dizzy? There was a lot of places like that at Iwappara today.
  12. I used it for a while and it was just taking up way too much time, I was spending all my evenings online chatting about nothing. So I uninstalled it and make do with mail.
  13. No-one knows Tons of them are tiny town-owned one lift type things. There's one near my house and I wouldn't dream of spending any cash to go there. It is seriously just one lift and a gentle slope that is about 300 meters long. They call it a resort!
  14. Thank you thank you. What can I say? I will be on the lookout for further "walls of snow" when we get another dumping.
  15. Cool! I hope I get a chance to take a picture of another impressive wall sometime.
  16. I spend 4 hours or so at Iwappara today. Had a great time on my own - amazing how much action you get in when you're on your own and no crowds. I've got tons of pics and will write a journal sometime soon, but on the subject of music on the slopes.... I think it was 80's day today. From what I remember we had: Madonna Hall and Oates Culture Club Bryan Adams Cutting Club (?) Spandau Ballet Duran Duran Eurythmics ....and other such delights!
  17. The same resort has a new wacky campaign, starting today, to try and get people to go back to the area. (Remember it's in Tsunan - the town thats on the tv all the time with the blocked road). For every 1mm of snow, 1 yen discount on accomodation. So 1000 yen discount for every meter of snow at the resort.
  18. Looks like it is going to be a fine day here. Very cold early on but says it will go up to around +4 or 5 during the day.
  19. It might rain, but sometimes in cases like this they are totally wrong and it misses us completely. Having said that, it usually does rain in January at some point I believe.
  20. Cool idea. I'm confident my "Wall of Snow" will be a strong contender.
  21. An area of about 8m*3m with 60cm depth of snow just slid off my roof before. It was fking scary I can tell you the noise it made, I thought the house was collapsing. (Again). At first it sounded like someone walking on the roof, then it got louder and louder then faster then it all fell over the side on one go. Huge pile of snow at the side now - if I had been under that lot I would have been crumpled. There's going to be a lot of that kind of thing this weekend I presume.
