The medical in our area is free until they are about 12, which is helpful. I found that many people will give you alot of clothing and toys, including alot of brand goods. Although sometimes it is not exactly what you had in mind for your child. As Indosnm said the grandparents always help out to. Plus I make alot of meals for our daughter, from fresh local produce given to us by friends. So far it has been relatively inexpensive! Please note I said so far, we have a long way to go. My lifestyle hasn't change a great deal, a few sacrifices but hey its worth it.

The one I scored is a board/ski waxing iron specifically made for waxing your gear. Just put the wax inside give it a minute and of you go. I haven't been to a shop to get my board waxed since I came to Japan. Doing it myself is more rewarding and convenient.

Good advice Telleboy. I actually found a second hand wax iron cheap, less than 1000yen in a used goods shop. Makes life easier and I don't have to destroy the house iron. It is a messy job scraping of but I bought a drop sheet from daiso so cleaning up is easier if you are doing it inside.

I eat GoGo Kids, nothing great but it isn't full of sugar like the other cereals here. Most of the ones here, CocoPops, Fruitloops etc my parents wouldn't let me eat as a kid. Too much sugar, it's not healthy. I also found a good muesli, forget the name though!

It maybe a bit early but tommorow snow is expected for most of Hokkaido & even here in Hakodate. It's the earliest I have seen since I have been here. A little excited but will have change the tyres on the car. Bring it on!! PS Is any one else here living in Hakodate or close by.　Just wondering!

Scary! We had a four up here last year the house swayed what seemed like a minute, I was terrified. I can't imagine what 6 would feel like. I just hope it eases soon and everybody will be OK.

Bad beer! I remember working in a restaurant in Australia and the liquer supplier had a Bud campain, cheap prices. So my dumb arse boss bought a sh*t load. After about 2 months we ditched 85% of it in the bin. Nobody liked the Bud! Nobody even wanted to take it home free of charge!

On average I work 14hrs a week (contact work) plus the occasional gig at private English schools. Mon, Fri & Sun are holidays. Could do with more work though!!

I just ditched my Flows for some Drake Matrix. I used them for about 3 seasons. they work well with certain boots and suck with other boots (the combination sucks not necessarily the products) I recently bought Salomon boots which don't fit well. Sometimes I found the snow packed on the base plate which was p*ssing me off last season. I just wanted more adjustment as well and my Flows were limited. The newer Flow models are probably better. Dont't hate them just prefer more adjustment.
