Late August I'll be leaving for a few weeks.

Well its either Discovery or National Geographic. Theres a guy on a program there, his name is Ian Wright (sp?) - and he is just so annoying. But he seems to have fans there and people who like his style. Anyone else seen him? Is he just stoned all the time or what?

A few buddies came round last night and after some beers we ended up watching the 2nd series dvd, amongst other things. Very funny program.

I have just over a year left on my current contract, but will more than likely be staying longer, still not fed up.

Nicely said. There may be tons of jobs, but what are they? Teaching English and such like? While that is fine, some of us do have careers and professions other than teaching English.

OK, so can someone give me an idea of what places have wireless lan - are there many coffee shops, etc offering this in Tokyo? How about trains and places like that. It would be great to have it on trains.

Don't get too excited. Theres a new one going up in town here, people are getting excited.

The space available on a shinkansen up to Niigata is laughable - enough for about 4 sets of skis. Apart from that its just fight-for-your-space time.

I dreamt last night that I was chased up to the top of a skyscraper by a giant cockroach. I fell off the top, but had a parachute - so I survived but landed in a huge strawberry jelly. I had to eat my way out. Then I woke up. It was pretty strange.

They seem to take a few holidays here, but not weeks - more like days here and there.

And to think the worst season is still to come
