be careful in the surf this summer!
Dims replied to boardbaka's topic in General off-topic discussions
Faults on both sides there. Honky should have let it go after the original confrontation but there's that fragile male ego (and face) for you. The crowd thing was not cool and really did remind me of the school yard. Rather sad. I always stick by the credo that the best surfer is the one having the most fun (and not at other people's expense). Hate crowds when I'm surfing, just not good enough for them anymore. -
Just brought a replacemnet battery for my iWank (Pod) from some guys in Australia. A third of the price of the battery replacement offered by Apple. Sure I have to do it myself but I'm not a muppet and I'm told by all that it's very simple. Here is the link F*&k you apple

Just looked at the new trailer for War of the Worlds. Tom Cruise playing catch with his kid in the front yard, cute little girl looking in terror out of the back of a speeding car as dad tries to escape the martians, flashy special effects. It looked a bit like a cross between ID4 and Jurassic Park (what a suprise ) Sorry to keep harping on about this but I'm really pissed off about it. Why couldn't Speilberg lays him hands of this one, or a least show some respect to the original storyline. Hollywood sucks arse. Is nothing sacred? And don't tell me to wait and see how the movie turns

8X should be fine. Any speed DVD-ROM should be pretty cheap by now I would have thought. A DVD-burner is a very handy thing to have though PRB. Especially for quick and easy data backups.

I'm with you V. I had a guy at work that would trail off at the end of a sentence so badly all you got were a series of weak hissing sounds, sort of like a rather sickly snake

And now they are talking about making him a saint. I didn't know short-sightedness and bloody-mindedness were miracles fit for cannonisation (sp?) A bit of water-to-wine, or "loaves and fishes" action would have been nice at least.

Good luck mate! Live the dream -
I think Japan has a similar "Honey and gravel" voiced dude as well. The one that does the Asahi Super Dry voice-over at the end of the ad

What an excellent idea! I still have some old graphics ideas floating around somewhere. I would have killed for this when I was a skate grommet.

Last rites used to be a series of prayers given to someone who was thought to be near death. It was meant to clense the soul of any remaining sin to smooth the path to heaven, especially if you had any "mortal sins" left on there. It was also meant to give "spiritual strength" to the patient, which may give them the urge to fight it out a bit longer. Nowdays the church tends to talk up the strength-giving bit and play down the soul-clensing bit because that is a bit "fire and brimstone" for the kids of today Anyway, it's about time the old dude kicked the bucket so they might get some

I keep in touch with most of the crew from high school/uni. I was lucky that we had a great bunch of fun people and it is not uncomfortable to catch up again in most cases. Still doing the same things, a few kids in the picture now and everyone is getting married. We must all be reaching that age I guess. It seems we all have a lot more responsibilities and less time to get on it, but it doesn't seem to stop us still having a good time. It is a bit sad when some of your friends are early thirties, still constantly smoking drugs every day and not a career or job in sight. I call it the Pet

what's everybody listening to now?

I'm loving Queens of the Stone Age's new album at the mo (as Rach previously mentioned). These guys can do no wrong in my eyes. Also the Futureheads ain't bad either. Been a bit out of the loop lately music wise. -
I tried the newish laser wireless mouse from Microsoft or Logitech, can't remember, and it was amazing. Just so precise and a great feel. If you have the means I strongly suggest you pick one up. It really was that good. As well as a up/down wheel it also had a left/right wheel scroll wheel which I thought was pretty trick. Good for all those World of Warcraft addicts out there

Too right Rach, some of the Katsu I got served up at the shokudo at work was 80% fat and gristle. And how much fat do they have on the pork in Okinawian restuarants . Serves me right for choosing the unhealthy menu options I guess

What kind of USB memory stick do you want?
Dims replied to fukdane's topic in General off-topic discussions
A kara-age chicken mem stick would be cool (and tasty) Bert's head (from sesame street) would be a winner as well -
