Ive moved to Germany temporarily for the summer and its been amazing so far. Continually over 25 celcius and regularily hitting 30. Last weekend went to Innsbruck, Austria in the middle of a heat wave (32 for 3 days), spent my time with friends at different lakes in the Alps, BBQing, boozing, starting to believe the good things about summer. Im back in Japan on Saturday morn and want to know what the summer has been like?

Hows the 59 treating u snowboard freak and whats the snow conditionsike in NSW? Where did u buy the board and what did it cost if u dont mind me asking? Jindy, Sydney or Melb. When i bought my last 59 Wide i only paid $700 but that was when they were trying to introduce them to the Vic market. Not sure how they have sold in Vic but they were $1200 in NSW and not selling to well.(2001 season) Ive moved on to germany and will buy the T5 59 for the euro winter but have heard that the oz season isnt to flash, well not in VIC anyway. Good luck keeping away from the rocks.

db, not joking about the size of the alps. 'the Alps' in Europe have huge mountains but are countained in a relatively small area. NZ too, but they are slightly bigger in area -

I might sound like an idiot but i was absolutely lost in that movie..and that why i loved it! it made me think so much about what was going on and that make a movie so much better than all the Sci-Fi, computer graphics, plot as thin as fishing wire movies out there now. Frank????? -
About the Australia snow season
neversummer replied to sachiko's topic in General off-topic discussions
Diffinately, thir is a huge rivalry bitween the kiwis ind the ozzies. usually iets only in sport but the ozzies beit us in everything but soccer. Back to the snow, sorry about my written attempt at the NZ language, NZ has a bigger alps than all of Switzerland, France and Austria combined but not the resources to utilise them. there are some amazing mountains there, a lot of pro riders head there in the off season, very rarely to Oz, because of the terrain. there isnt much difference in snow depth between the two but because NZ is further south the snow quality is much better. For those who ha -
I've got a mountainboard back in Oz. really fun over the summer months. can carve on the roads, ride the grass, really steep hills, ski resorts in summer (some). perfect for the wait for the next winter. as said before, if you come off at speed, it hurts like hell. check out www.mountainboard.com

neversummer replied to danz's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I'll be there for the riding session on the Sunday morning if someone is up for it..hungover or not. Cant make it for the party but will be there Sunday and Monday. Stayed there for 3 nights last week and this place is just so relaxed. Easy access to 47 and Happo, close to onsens and if you want a good feed, head to the country Diner opposite the Gym. Huge meal for 1000 yen. -
Board Review
neversummer replied to damian's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
it seems strange to me when people buy boards for their crazy graphics when usually they get covered by the bindings. FORUM are great at doing that. My NeverSummer is basically black with a purple/white silluetted polor bear crushing an igloo between the bindings. You dont notice it when everything else is so dark and the snow is white. -
Have read the previous thread but dont remember it to well..here goes. i was there today. From Ginza, take the Maranouchi Line towards Ikebukuro and get off at Ochanamizu. Walk left over the bridge and follow that road for about 5-600 metres on the left hand side until you come to 'REDS'. This is the first store. From there follow the same road for 20-30 metres to the intersection. there will be a snowboard store on the left side of the i-section on the "F with a sale on FORUM gear. turn left and follow this road until you get to Shin-ochanamizu station (about a km). there are board shop

Nelson definately has the goods. it is such a secret spot, backcountry to die for within easy reach of the hill..will definately go back when in Canada again. -
I think i would create an amazing amount of discussion and resentment towards Americans if i told you too much. I have nothing against Americans or Brits but their Governments are the biggest 'Terrorists' out there. This is only coming from the book, it is sourced extensively and the author is hated by both the governments but this is what the Afghan thing was all about. George Bush Senior is a senior advisor to the Bin Laden families Oil Co. in Saudi Arabia. It was his Govt who put Al Qaida in power in Afghanastan to control the country, thereby opening a route to build an oil pipe

Ive met two guys who are Yakuza and like the other posts say, they switch on and off like a light globe. Normal guys when not working but must be arrogant and aggressive when working..and the tats are crazy, whole body including feet, behind ears etc where it hurts like hell.

If you want to read something really interesting about the possible war read this book: New Rulers of the World by John Pilger It will open your eyes to what is really going on and how much crap the US and British Govt are telling the public in regard to the Iraqi crisis and what they have told us since the 1st Gulf War.

Refuse to go

have been to Maranuma once and the snow was really good for mid-december but i have to say im with Oceans on this..once you pay the extra 1000 on top of the 4000 for the ticket and drive the extra minimum hour to the resort it is worth going to Neaba/Kag/Tash/Mits and getting equally good snow, more advanced lifts etc.
