"Do the planets ever effect the tides?" If I remebmer correctly the moon is 80-90% responsible for the tides, the sun is most of the rest and "other bodies" are only a percent or two or less.

Question about Forum

I tried to send some cash but it only took me back out to the front page. Looks like I will have to spend it. -
After a quick glance at each Ayn Rand seems the most interesting. Perhaps because she is not writing about recient US politics and is not religious. Will look at Robert's book later but I feel like I have read enough of Ms Coulter after reading only this thread.

I have read plenty of lefty books esp. Mr Moores'. Are there any, preferably amusing, right wing books around to balance out my brain? Any recommendations?

I wonder if this is in anyway related to the fact that advanced driver training does not make you chances of dying in a car crash any lower. Apparantly people have a level of risk that they are willing to accept and as their skill increases so does their speed leaving them with the same chance of dying as before they took the course. There is still the advantage of being able to go faster with the same level of risk though. Do avalanche "experts" go to to more extreme locations/slopes and face an equal danger to less trained people that stick to generally safer terrain? or Perhaps "ava

You didnt read closely enough. W isnt for liberator. W as in Waterboarding. Wally waterboarded Ahmed (see A). Kids, it's not surfboarding, but almost! There's the board and the water and the person on the board, and it's the main sport of the Central Intelligence Agency (see G), and the great thing is -- you can do it twenty-four hours a day. You never have to wait for the surf to be up.

I sometimes use torrentreactor.net (esp. for an entire album) but for a single music file I would still use kaaza lite.

Quote: A pretty sad story when nobody stops criminal activity Your enjoying a quiet beer at the pub. A couple of big bikers are palying pool quitely by themselves. In walks a fairly small guy who wants to be a hero. He sits in the middle of the pool table and refuses to get off. When the bikers inevedably remove him by force are you going to go and save him? He done it to himself and must have known what would happen. If he tried to run away he would have easaly been able to, no one was chasing him. I dont condone violence but I would not try to save somebody so obviously trying to -

I got the files but they are already compressed as .wmv files. I cant compress files that are already compressed without making them too bad to watch. Is it possible for me to get hold of the file before it is compressed, i.e in DV format. It should be quite big, a few hundred megs. -
Speed Skiing
jared replied to SHAG's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
A while ago I decided ski jumping was worth a try and investigated some courses but I think I would rather spend the money on a summer camp in the pipe/park. -
Costs about the same to ship to NZ as Japan. I suspect they cocked up and charged us less than ussual for shipping. Since Im not doing anything at the moment I'll answer for her (likely incorrectly) Her birthday is fairly soon (Im just a little bit older) Hard to say what skis she needs, she is going to do ski instructor training so somehting that does well on firmer snow would be a plus. She has the fat skis and the park skis covered so something that fills in her quiver would be good. I reccon the line assasins 75 underfoot might be good but she thinks that they are a bit skin

Im having a bit of a delemma. I could get the Assasin MTX pros or the Eric Pollards or the 1260's or the Chronics. Basicly all round or Park - The Seth P's are still good for snowy days but NZ might be hard more of the time - but Im only skiing there for 2 months then Ill be doing 2 northen Hemisphere seasons.... I'm not sure yet but there are cheap cheap skis all over the internet and I think I will buy something.
