  1. It depends Liveintokyo. Kagura plans to open on the 22nd and while right now there is no snow, snow is due today into tomorrow and hopefully they will be able to open. Just do not know for sure now. Keep your eye on our Yuzawa Now and Naeba Now reports which will be updated daily from now...
  2. Just got the webcam from our office working (it was being very un-cooperative for a while there) http://www.snowjapan.com/e/daily/webcam/niigata/yuzawa-town-webcam.html Rain now in town but hopefully it might be a bit whiter tomorrow morning.
  3. There are. We'll be posting how to get some in the next few weeks so stay tuned... got to get some other stuff seen to first.
  4. I don't know why they are not appearing either. You can upload photos to SnowJapan and then link them in from there: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/login.php http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/photo_gallery.php Thanks.
  5. ((This is actually MikePow's post!)) Some great views on the way up of the terrain between Kurodake and Asahidake, at 2290m the highest peak in the Daisetsuzan Mountain Range and on Hokkaido. After the obligatory summit shots it was time to drop in. The snow was windblown in parts with a 15-20cm breakable crust and boot top dry powder in others. The pitch was consistent and steepish, high 30s, and fast. Yours truly skiing from the summit of Daisetsuzan Kurodake Unknown riding from the summit of Daisetsuzan Kurodake Glen Clayd
  6. You can check out various rental information right here on our site: Rental http://www.snowjapan.com/e/niseko-guide/niseko-gear-and-rental.html Good luck.
  7. Quote: Hmm...I posted a reply before but for some reason I can't see it. (It must not have posted properly as nothing has been deleted)
  8. torihada, your lame headcam would also be welcome on our video site http://www.snowjapan.tv
  9. JA, it is slap bang in the middle of this: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=36.954213,138.801656&spn=0.031071,0.065918&z=15 and on the border of A1 and A2 on our very own Yuzawa map: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/japan-ski-town-maps/yuzawa/yuzawa.html
  10. Excellent! That has just cheered me up after a long day in front of a computer!
  11. Hi cab9 Kagura and Naeba are connected via a gondola - however, that won't be operating at that time. Both Kagura and Naeba plan to open 22nd November. Realistically that will just be the man-made snow at the bottom of Naeba (about 900m long narrow course), while more - real snow - should hopefully be open up top at Kagura. Obviously how much of the resort areas they open will be depend on how much snow they get until then These pages will hopefully help with visualising it all http://www.snowjapan.com/e/japan-ski-town-maps/naeba/naeba.html http://www.snowjapan.com/e/map
  12. Actually they are starting a week or so later this year than they did last year. Around 10 or so yes.
  13. First of the snow making for Naeba this weekend, and here are some pics. They plan to open that run in front of the hotel on 22nd November. Thanks to Hayashi-san.
  14. Just as a reminder: http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/243164/Links_policy.html Thanks.
  15. Thanks to our friend Patrick Thorne: Scotland Opens For Halloween Skiing Scotland's Lecht ski area has opened for skiing and boarding today, October 31st, following recent heavy snowfalls which are continuing across Scotland's mountains. The Eagle 1, Grouse and Snowy Owl pistes are all complete but they have some thin areas. There is no nursery area complete at present. Cairngorm above Aviemore hopes to open tomorrow, November 1st. "It is snowing quite heavily here today and we are hoping to open for skiing tomorrow but it will only be a narrow run from the Ptarmigan stat
  16. Yes thanks for posting, Mike. Always good to see new pics up there. Looks great.
  17. Quote: Any chance of amalgamating this thread with the strong yen thread in 'off-topic'? I have done that. I think. I hope it all still makes some sense! (Not totally confident on how that all works....)
  18. Just on the main NHK now about the expensive yen - they had Furano on there and the worries about foreign skiers/boarders not turning up.
  19. Said it before in a similar situation, but why don't you either email us or send a PM and ask us rather than make a point about it on the Forums? We won't bite, and have been known to be at times very friendly.
