Thunderbird2 0
I find that the Japanese people I know have such a capacity to not get angry - or at least not show it. Compared to the Westerners I know and in general, much more so than us. What do you think? I know that there is anger building up inside with lots of Japanese, but becasue of the culture they dont show it a lot of the time, but the close Japanese friends that I know well just don't seem to have that anger in them. I really like that quality.
LiquidX 0
I often feel the same - my close Japanese friends just seem so cool with the world and its difficult to get them completely worked up. I really admire them for that.
big-will 7
We're not all angry dudes here, hey. I sometimes despair at how quickly some people get whipped up into a frenzy - look at some of the posts on here when we get onto contro topics. Some people need stress management
mikazooki 0
what the f!@# r u guys talking about u can take your inflammatory posts and just shove off. most of the f!@#ing posters are well chilled, and if it wasnt for your f!@#ing provocative poking and jibing we could all get along just fine. in fact, tell me where u live, i'm gonna come round and smash your faces in. MistaSparkle 0
I think that cool-headedness has got something to do with Japanese culture's roots in buddhism.
damian 0
I think the greatest skill combo would be cool headedness and yet have the passion/belly fire to instigate rapid and posative change to a situation that is not optimal.
rachael 0
That would be a good skill to have.
miteyak 0
One other thing you might notice is how the pushy aggresive members of the Japanese society rise up, while the passives sit passively, accept their lot.
Glen Falting 0
miteyak, are you talking about Obaasans on day trips or just elderly Japanese in general?
miteyak 0
Kambei, I'd love to answer that honestly, but I fear the revenge of the brolly tip...
akibun 0
I sometimes have to keep my frustrating feeling inside. But I don't like people who are easy angry.

rajeem 0
Some of the Japanese I work with get very angry and often shout as well. When I watch tv too, I see quite a bit of anger.
danz 0
I agree...most Japanese are incredibly cool-headed... but just watch out when they get into cars! man, I can't believe how many angry faces and gestures I see while driving and alot of times they seem to be directed at me, although I can't for the life of me figure out why danz
oo 1
be careful there danz! One of my new pet hates is when there is a go slow special lane, and the go slow people don't change lanes to use the damned thing and holding everyone else up in the process
2pints-mate 0
Some of them in my judo class seem to get very angry.
white-void 0
I find the opposite danz and find J drivers to be very non-angry. Definitely not polite, but not aggressive either. You must just be a bad driver
