pjem 0
We are having a party next weekend and I want a good wine (the guests are pretty much into wine). Does anyone have any recommendations for a good red and white wine available in Japan? Price isn't the most important although I don't want to become bankrupt over it - reasonably priced decent wine sounds good to me. Cheers

indosnm 0
Check out Village Cellars in Toyama. They have heaps of Aussie & NZ wines at very very good prices. I will look for their number tomorrow

peterson 0
They all taste pretty much the same to me. So anything around 1000 yen will do just fine.
enderzero 0
French wines seem to be pretty cheap in Japan. It is really hard to find good wine from the west coast of America over there...and we all know that is where the best wines in the world come from. They're easy to find here. scouser 4
Is French wine and other stuff still being "avoided" in the US??
enderzero 0
The boycott the french thing seems to be pretty much dead here. I was hoping to see "freedom fries" on a menu at some point...but nope. The joke is even dead it would appear.
echineko 1
I like wine, but get me drunk quickly
Karnidge 2
I heard somewhere that the French were officially banning the word "e-mail" or something to that effect substituting it with a French alternative. Anyone know more about that, was it a joke?
Ocean11 0
Everything the French establishment does to protect the French language is a joke. They actually have a committee for the preservation of their langue.

Markie 0
O.K., let me set the story straight....well, maybe not. Why not leave the story the way it is?More interesting that way!
HotMagma 0
I spent a month in France way back and it was literally a wine holiday. Bliss.

neversummer 0
There is a really good international wine shop in Shinjuku called Yamaya. Go out the south entrance and turn right. walk along Koshi-Kaido for about 1km and its on the right. lots of french reds of course, german whites, some good, by japaneses standard, aust and nz wines. Thety also have heaps of cheap european brand foods ie. pasta, biscuits, cheeses (for you cheesman) and all the party foods you may need.
rajeem 0
Which do you all prefer? I like red wine but not too keen on white.
big-will 7
A good white for me.
enderzero 0
I do enjoy a good sparkling white (champagne) and occasionally a nice chilled Riesling, but my favorite is certainly a spicy Cabernet Sauvignon or sometimes a nice Pinot Noir. BTW, chill my red wine and you'll have a nice red stain down your apron, garcon.
Roger's head 0
What is it with warm red wine?
