merryJim 1
She was good in The Assasin (?) as well, sexy lady. I watched the new Transformers last week. Gave me a headache more than anything, I was glad to get out into the fresh air. Basically just more more more than the first one.

bobby12 0
Catching up on this thread... new Star Trek: watchable, not great. would watch next one. Yes Men - gonna download it. The best movie I have seen in years is The Prestige (2006) - its a bit like Usual Suspects but completely different subject matter.
scouser 4
Prestige was good. And right now The Majestick (sp) is on, repeated tomorrow. Seem to remember that one being ok too.

Tubby Beaver 209
War of the Worlds, the one with Tom Cruise, is piss. I watched Never say Never Again the other day. Sean Connery as Bond, fun but cheesy. Special effects are so dated its unbelieveable
@tokyo 14
The aliens were pretty good in that War of the Worlds I thought. Though it did seem kinda empty somehow. Never Say Never Aain - not a proper Bond! Poor remake of Thunderball.
bobby12 0
War of the worlds - I just thought it was 100% pro-war propaganda from the us gov. Cloverfield was the same (though more entertaining).

Lazenby took over after him and failed and he came back for one more right?
BagOfCrisps 24
After You Only Live Twice, Connery quit. Then Georgio Lazenby did On Her Majestys Secret Service. That only lasted one. They persuaded Connery to come back for Diamonds Are Forever. He did that, then quit again. Roger Moore and his eyebrows took over then with Live & Let Die. Never Say Never Again was a rival production - ie. not a proper Bond, no Bond music etc - and was released around the same time as Octopussy. Octopussy won.
thursday 1
With a name like that, it had to win
muikabochi 208
Never Say Never Again sucked, Connery was really tired in that. Good poings: Fatima Blush!! (and less so, the character played by Kim Basinger)
BagOfCrisps 24
Connery really started looking fed up with it all with You Only Live Twice. Apparently he hated his time in Japan and the mad attention he got and was itching to get away from it.
pie-eater 207
Didn't he give his $1 for the Diamonds comeback to his Scotland charity?

thursday 1
Surrogates. A rather novel idea for future society. Not one that I would like. Robotic acting required and delivered with ease. They just acted themselves. Not a Bruce Willis fan myself, but the story was pretty good.
