mattlucas 0
Cheer up folks. Just means you have another weekend to go out and dryland train in the mountains so that when that first day does come around your not all out of shape.

In my case that is: Just means you have another weekend to stay in, eat and drink and/or go out shopping then go out to eat and drink, etc.

muikabochi 208
Another bright sunny day here, no sign of snow. The snow that was on the tops of the hills now almost gone. It's not feeling much like winter yet.
indosnm 0
All this warm weather make it easier for adapting to OZ summer climates. Though I do hope you bunnies get some snow soon. Wife told me that "they" are predicting that it will get cold in January but warm up in feb and be a really short winter..
rach 1
"they" must be wrong.
Plucky 0
Winter starts on Dec 21. Be patient folks. So many of the resorts in Japan or so low in elevation. No different than any other year. PS - I've been skiing since Sept 25th.
mattlucas 0
I was hiking up on Norikura and the snow was knee to thigh deep above 2000 metres If this country wwas not covered in sasa it would have been good skiing

herzen 0
I remember last year it didn't snow well until around the 27th of Dec. Most resorts had only their little runs in action until that time. Then (in Aomori and upwards, at least) one storm came in two main phases and put damn near a metre on the slopes. Then there was the year before that when I was skiing on damn near two metres by the 10th of december. What's that all about?
miteyak 0
Nagano, If my memory serves me well, was fully operational by the 16th last year, but I've known it not really be working til after the new year before too (6 or 7 years ago?). But as mentioned above, it's damn hot even for a crap snow year. If this keeps up, it'll be all (a three week road trip to Hokkers) or nothing (turkey and temples w/a healthy serving of bank deposits) for me.
Davo 1
I got my bus ticket today and have sent my board up. At least I'll be able to go for a hike, breathe some good air and catch up with some friends. It will snow I know it will
mattlucas 0
You know we could look at all the posts from last year and they would be exactly the same. Well mostly. Last year there was quite a bit of talk about stink bugs and jelly fish.
miteyak 0
Has anyone else noticed the tropical storm that may well be heading our way...
