yoroshiku onegai shimasu 2
Where would you say the biggest, meanest, most/least fun (as you see it!) moguls have been at a Japanese resort? I think the biggest I have seen have been at Happo and Iwappara.
mattlucas 0
Biggest I have seen are at Happo Even a large dump barely covers them I don't like bumps
Fattwins 0
nozawa gets some killers on the middle ridge. i dont hate moguls i choose not to ski them.
bushpig 0
Yeah, Happo moguls suck!
Yuki's Passion 1
Moguls arent fun - especially on skis with a 105 waist
HoTRoD 2
I agree, all moguls are mean! I avoid them. I've got one Japanese friend who spends pretty much all day on moguls. I don't know how is legs survive.
muikabochi 208
Iwappara has some mean moguls
jgraves 0
When I was at Appi, there were moguls large enough to play hide-and-seek in. No fun a'tall
soubriquet 0
Right about Appi. There were some mean icy bstards with fresh chop in the hollows. Survival skiing for these old legs.
eskimobasecamp 0
Meanest moguls? Hmmm the ones i got escorted down by ski patrol?! Or.... no..... maybe the ones i decided (wrongly) to have a pondering 'oooooooooh look at that view' mountain moment upon...... as a snowboarder crashed straight into me at full speed, thankfully not breaking me, but snapping one of my poles completely in half.... never saw the other end of it again! Moguls are the opposite of pow..... enough said.
scouser 4
I've noticed you mention patrol quite a few times eskimobasecamp..... how come, you have lots of trouble with them or something?
TJ OZ 0
Got caught in those moguls just up from the Happo Gondola one time with the crew. They wern't too happy with me as I was the one who accidently guided them that way. They are big.
cow 0
One thing I really hate is suddenly by accident finding yourself at the top of some huge moguls with no alternative but to go down them. I was in that situation at Nozawa this season - you know those huge moguls on the left hand side as you look at the mountain. Way way big.
daver 0
play the straight line game. crank your DIN up to its max, point your skiis down, and hold on as long as you can before you enevietably explode into a blubbering pile of blood and broken bones. seriously though, i don't tend to that much anymore, somewhere with age i lost my craving for self-destruction. but i have seen a guy do it for roughly 300-400 meters of terrifying bumps. no turns, straight to the bottom, stop at end unscathed. unreal. marnix 0
The moguls at happo can't be that mean. Last season I saw a guy skiing them with ease on 1 ski. I vote for Nozawa somehow I am not able to avoid them there.

He wasn't in the paralympics of something was he? Anyway, who cares how big and icy and crappy the moguls are at Happo - as long as it ties up the Japanese skiers standing about, desperate to triumph and make it down unbroken.... and moreover, occupies the patrol who are rescueing the people who inevitably crash out on them........ then the more pow for us! lol
marnix 0
I think it was one of those technical ski guys as they were filming him and interviewing him. But I agree more people should spend more time in the moguls.
window-cleaner 0
I've heard about those big ones at Nozawa and Happo. I do avoid them myself as much as possible!

97 0
Is there much a resort can do to avoid moguls happening on really steep slopes?
Yuki's Passion 1
not really unless they groomed em daily. I always try to cut em up on my fat skis.
