By the way, I found out that the d300 will accept old nikon/nikor lenses even from the non-digital era which is good news since I have a macro & wide angle lens (assumin I ever buy a d300). My old kit is Pentax, so I don't have any legacy problems. For Mantas: I ruled out the Pentax DSLR because it runs on disposables. Dedicated batteries may be a pain (sometimes), but they work. thursday 1 Posted September 27, 2007 Share Posted September 27, 2007 The D40 and D40x cannot use the autofocus function on the AF lenses because it aint got a motor, but it can use the AF-S lenses and use the len's "Silent Wave" servo. I agree, looks like a niiiice one albeit pricey. I saw Amazon actually offers some package for when the d300 comes out. d300+vr18-200 lens. Supposedly good deal. Only ship in the US though I think.
