let's listing up:

what I have:

Sunscreen, suntan lotion, hand lotion

sunglasses

2-person tent

6-person tent (if AK and/or others come)

Mummy sleeping bag, thermarest

SnowPeak 2-pots-in-1 canister, 2 gas tanks (1 nearly full, 1 extra) small ones 220g

utensils, sponge, dishwashing soap

onsen pack, inlc tiger balm/toiletries, TP, etc.

head lamp, flashlight

snowshoes, poles, extra pole thingies

avie kit, spare batteries—important! Headlamp also uses AAA/単4 size

topo maps—1:250K, Murodo and Tateyama (the Tateyama map cuts off right at Murodo Station, i wasn't sure if i needed the map next to it, so i got both. why is it split right at the camp area, to get suckers like me to buy one more map?!)

camera

book(s)

ziplocks

garbage bags

compass

First-aid kit, incl rescue blanket and whistle

Nalgene bottle (1)

Thermos (1)

2 pair long johns, 3 pair socks, 3 pair winter socks, hiking boots,

Leatherman rip off multitool

cash

What I Still Need:

--40+L pack to get everything up there (if not, I guess I could cram everything in my triple+ snowboard bag. May be a bit uncomfortable getting in and out of the campsite, but shoganai)

--food. Can get at Jusco or JA. Noodles, pocari sweat powder mix, tea, etc.

--anything else I can think of in the next 2 days

--your phone number, EBC

and mind you "2-person" tent means it barely sleeps me and my gear

"6-person" tent should sleep 4 people plus gear

toque, are there outlets in the onsen for charging camera battery?

Also, can you get cell phone reception up there (thinking just in case)

CB can tell you that he got an annoying call very early in the morning at the camp area from FT
So yes

I'm sure you can find an outlet somewhere at the onsens. If you can't though don't come back to me all upset

not even raw veggies? :p

man, if there's anything that will make you eat sushi it's the fatty tuna (chuu-toro) that we have here. It totally melts in your mouth!

Hell, even my aussie grandmother tried it and she liked it thumbsup.gif

Hi Dizzy,

Yeah, i think i'm in!

Look forward to meeting you this weekend in Hakuba.

let's planning!

so far on my list:

one pair of board socks.

i will improve in that this weekend - especially the socks, I'm not that anti-social!

On the buying list:

camping eating stuff

ziplock bags (they just sound organized!)

plus various stuff to borrow...

my backpacks are due to arrive by airmail on the 8th, so just too late. damn. other BC stuff is on a boat somewhere, and will arrive in June!
