Peetan 10
http://youtu.be/NeAQxERSkHI Sideways video alert! But, wow. Reports of injuries are coming in, but hopefully nothing serious. Also hope it's not that near to people on here?
Thundercat 60
Yikes. This kind of thing makes me think twice about living so close to Fuji.
Thundercat 60
Apparently one serious injury.
snowdude 44
Whoa, that is not good. Maybe Fuji will be next although hopefully not. Volcanoes exploding all over the world at the moment.

Hyst 1
No more Fuji climb for me, once this summer and no more. Hiking in Scandinavia is safer
grungy-gonads 54
Some of the photos are mad. Looks like the buildings up there completely covered in snow.
METAL 0
Friends were planning on being there this weekend. He's glad he came down with a bad cold!
snowdude 44
Yeah I see those photos of the buildings covered in ash looks more like a mid winter snow schene. Crazy around that area, glad I am not there, feel for those trapped and caught out in it.
634-maru 4
I thought it was snow when I saw that! Taihen desu ne.

oblivion 5
Seems to say on the news now 30 people heart stopped?
seemore 66
Saw it on the news in Perth No warning hey?
Chriselle 158
Seems to say on the news now 30 people heart stopped? AKA.....DEAD!
frannyo 2
Yes, seems an off way to 'say' it
Hyst 1
May it is because it is only med. doctor who can declare death (with one exception), others can say - no breathing or heartbeat. It went worst than I had thought.
snowdude 44
Yeah some of that ash has drifted as far as Kofu, but so far we are ok here at the moment. Kofu being that little bit further south than us is a bit more in line with that volcano, but if the wind change who knows.
JA2340 16
Made the news here tonight! F AAA R K! Not nice! But it seems the boffins are all over it, knew it was possible, just forgot to tell anyone?
frannyo 2
It's 'possible' that lots of volcanos might erupt, and big earthquakes happen. What do they do, evacuate 80% of Japan?
JA2340 16
Possible, I mean, with some degree of certainty and a time frame. If you don't think they should have done some warnings, what do you think? Just let anyone die who happens to live there? If a warning system exists (which I assume does) then what's it purpose if not to warn people very likely to be affected? What, then, is the intention of the tsunami warning system? If it generates a warning, what happens? Nothing? If that's the case - it's a bloody great waste of money!
634-maru 4
Possible, I mean, with some degree of certainty and a time frame. And in this case, they did not think there was a certainty or a time frame. Hence no warning.
Metabo Oyaji 71
May it is because it is only med. doctor who can declare death (with one exception), others can say - no breathing or heartbeat. I think that is indeed the issue. The news can't declare the victims officially dead until a doctor has signed the death certificates. Probably insurance, inheritance, and other legal issues involved.
Peetan 10
Whatever the factors, it's pretty damn taihen. I feel so sorry for those whose lives are forever changed, or worse. Just another sign that our position in nature is to be respected, not expected.
Big Al 16
Totally agree Peetan. I'm sure I'm not the only one on here who is disgusted by some of the man-made squabbles and resulting deaths going on in the world today - Syria, Iraq etc. Our time here is short and should be used positively. Nature can and will cull us whenever - not unlike the Monty Pythons foot !!!!!
