proudtobegay 0
I'm off to Shiga Kogen this coming week with a friend and should be there and maybe Nozawa for a number of days. It's a big area, which do you like best? From what I can see there seem to be 3 main areas - the southern part (Yokoteyama/Kumanoyu), the middle part, then the northern part (Okushiga/Yakebitaiyama). Yuki's Passion 1
only skied Yokoteyama and Kumanoyu... it was also around Xmas and barely had any snow too. Would like to see some off piste there. Looked pretty good.
slow 0
I've skied there two times but I only remember Yokoteyama(Yes, nice bread!) and Kumanoyu. I'm going to Okushiga this weekend. I'd love to ski in the trees there, too...

@tokyo 14
Okushiga/Yakebitai to the middle bit
echineko 1
Is that bakery still open this year?
mina2 6
I go there a few times a year and vary it, but the area I usually end up most is the middle part > Yakebitaiyama and if I have my skis on over to Okushiga. Very cold place.
meat 0
I like the "middle part" I suppose you could call it. The far extremes (Okushiga and the other highest point forgot the name) don't allow snowboarders anyways.
slow 0
Wonderful powder snow at Okushiga Kogen! It was almost like skiing in Hokkaido. We were so impressed with "excellent" service at Okushiga Kogen hotel. This is the hotel I would love to stay in the mountain. I really liked the smell of woodburning fireplace at lounge. Today the snow at Yakebitai was better, I saw tracks in the trees at the right side of Gondola1. Has anybody ever skied there?
scouser 4
Is that the hotel listed on here? http://www.snowjapan.com/e/hotel/viewhotel.php?hotid=
sunrise 0
Sounds like you had a good time, slow. Did you hit the trees?
slow 0
No, I was looking for nice spot and found it at side of Yakebitai Gondola1. But it was too deep... I can't ski well if it's too deep... So, I didn't try there but would love to next time!
Fattwins 0
you cant get better if you dont try. I told you guys to buy fat skis and now you will buy them next year right?
