blu 3
If your leather boots are getting too wet you can hire snowboots at Rhythm or 323. Otherwise check Rays Outdoors @ Erina (or the new Ananconda store) for something waterproof.

They are perfect for my patented easy on easy off set up. I use 8mm bungy (elasticised) cord on my hiking boots. Tie them up to desired tightness. Reef knot. Then all you do is pull the bungy off the top two loops, slip off... slip on pull bungy over top two loops. Easy and has to save you at least 45 seconds per day

As you well know Jynxx Japan is a place you take shoes on and off a lot. I've had lace up shoes here and it's just a pain in the butt. I don't have any lace up shoes anymore (besides my hiking boots which I only use for hiking).
