muikabochi 208
Yes I remember that, it was remarkable how quickly things changed. I took this photo on 22nd February 2010, so 1 week before that photo above.

ILoveZao 8
Zao ia busy at the moment. But very unusual busy. Many people who had destroyed house are coming to stay here as well as people going to earthquake areas to help out. Ski resort I think will not open again, certainly not any time soon. SKI 15
I read on the Zao report page. Sounds like you guys taking in lots of people. Gambatte kudasai, our thoughts are with everyone.
Tubby Beaver 209
Thats great to hear that many lodges are taking in displaced people from the Tsunami area. I was wondering, is the government paying hotels/lodges for this or is it totally gratis out of the owners goodness?
muikabochi 208
I have no idea. But there's some of this in Yuzawa too. I heard that they are just putting people up.
BagOfCrisps 24
Late season turning out to be an almost unimaginable situation for many regions. I wish all the very best sorting this lot out.
ILoveZao 8
Nature may have shown us some anger, but she is still beautiful. Zao is still looking winter-like, if only the season had continued as normal. There are still monsters up there.
muikabochi 208
Wow compare that to last year. Damn, what a fine spring season it would have been!

Zaoman 0
Good news. I think there was a lot of pressure and politics going on with this - lots of Zao people wanted to get things open again but there was a balance to get with there being lots of people here from affected areas. And the skijo characteristically slow to make decisions etc. Anyway good to hear and I'll definitely get up there.
